    Abstract: The Glc6PD genome of Leuconostoc mesenteroides is isolated. Oligonucleotides complementary to sequences upstream and downstream to the Glc6PD genome are prepared and used to amplify the genome by the polymerase chain reaction. The amplified gene is isolated and cloned into pUC19. The recombinant plasmid expresses the gene in E. coli.
