  • Publication number: 20060089438
Abstract: A novel method for applying Artificial Desert Varnish to exposed rock surfaces using organic compounds to utilize the polar nature of organic alcohols, organic ethers or other functional groups to chelate with the applied Artificial Desert Varnish providing a bonding or binding mechanism that strengthens the adherence properties and seals the colorants into and onto the rock mineral surfaces enhancing stability and longevity of the Artificial Desert Varnish colors.

  • Publication number: 20060052042
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for processing and packaging fillets, the fillets are fed on to a conveyor belt, cut into individual fillet slices by a slicer, analyzed in a camera for different parameters, and results fed to a calculation unit. The slices are further conveyed to transport tables positioned along the conveyor and transferred to package trays thereon. Each table has a weighing cell which currently weighs each individual package tray with slices and transfers weight data to the calculation unit to determine the type of fillet slice to be transferred next to a given package tray. Before the fillet is moved into the slicer, its weight is optionally determined either as an estimate made on the basis of a camera imaging of it or by a weighing cell arranged below the slicer. The packaging of fillet slices is performed optimally so that individual trays have a desired weight. It also ensures that the uppermost slice in a package is attractive to consumers.

  • Publication number: 20050163936
Abstract: A novel method for coloring various rock types to duplicate the natural color so-called, Desert Varnish. By using mixtures of the Humic acid or Fulvic acid in conjunction with buffered metal hydroxide and metal salt solutions, the colors of natural color can be exactly duplicated. The natural absorption and chelating power for the transition metal and other metal ions by the Humic acid or Fulvic acid when used in conjunction with low concentrations of the salts of the transition metals allow for the naturally chelated metal complexes and salts to absorb into the rock surface to impart the desired color. The Humic acid or Fulvic acid is derived from humic substances such as leonardite clay. The clay serves as an insoluble fraction that settles in the vugs and recesses of the rock, imparting random patterns of darker colors, much like natural desert varnish.

  • Patent number: 6129049
Abstract: A feeding device for feeding young pigs comprises a feeding tube (16), which may be a flexibly yielding or a rigid feeding tube. The feeding tube (16) is connected with a feed reservoir (26) and is fastened to a frame (15). The lower end (17) of the feeding tube (16) is arranged at a short distance over a feeding plate (12). Arranged around the lower end of the tube is a ring (1). The ring (1) may be manipulated by young pigs, which have a size between 5 and 13 kg, so that these animals are able to be fed by the feeding device. The feeding device will make it possible in a technically simple manner to feed young pigs.

  • Patent number: 5447119
Abstract: A feeding device for feeding animals, such as pigs or hogs, includes a tubular feed reservoir (16) and a feed discharge tube 27 having a feed discharge opening at its lower end (17) above a base member (10) defining a feed support surface (12). Troughs (11) may be arranged adjacent to the feed support surface (12), and the bottom surfaces (13) of the troughs are located on a lower level than the feed support surface (12). The feed reservoir (16) is suspended at its upper part in a pendulum-like manner and transverse movement of the reservoir is restricted by an encircling ring member (18). Animals being fed may push the lower end of the feed discharge tube (27) so that the lower end thereof is moved transversely. The lower length (31) of the feed discharge tube (27) is elastically flexible such that it may be flexed by larger pigs or animals, whereby the lower end of the feed discharge tube (27) may be moved further relative to the base member (10).
