  • Patent number: 5429214
Abstract: A ventilated brake disc for rail vehicles of a divided or undivided design is provided. The brake disc comprises a brake ring with ribs connected to the hub. Projections for fastening the brake ring to the hub are connected to selected ribs having recesses. In another design the brake ring, within its neutral range, is provided with projections arranged opposite one another at a dividing groove, each projection having a respective tangential bore for receiving a screw for fastening the sections of the divided brake ring, whereby a portion of the ribs in the area of the projections extends radially inwardly and radially outwardly from the projections. In another design first projections have respective first tangential bores aligned with one another for receiving a first screw are positioned opposite one another at a dividing groove of the brake ring in the vicinity of its inner circumference.

  • Patent number: 5360087
Abstract: An assembled brake disc for a disc brake with partial lining is comprised of two components in the form of a brake ring and a hub and at least one dog and at least one corresponding groove. The components are connected to one another by the dog extending into the groove. The dog has outer contact surfaces resting at mating inner side walls of the groove. At least one of the outer contact surfaces and a corresponding one of the mating inner side walls are slanted relative to an axial direction of the brake disc. The brake disc further comprises screws extending parallel to the axial direction for pressing the outer contact surfaces against the mating inner side walls.

  • Patent number: 5297660
Abstract: A brake ring/hub connection via clamping notches for rail vehicles is provided. When a clamping strip is pressed into a clamping notch, the smallest cross-sectional configuration of the hub at the clamping notch is greater than the cross-sectional configuration of the clamping arms in that region thereof that is exposed to the greatest stress, and the cross-sectional configuration of the hub beyond the clamping arms is at least somewhat smaller than the cross-sectional configuration of the hub in the vicinity of the base of the clamping notch.

  • Patent number: 4942945
Abstract: A brake cylinder, especially for rail vehicles, with a simple-acting linkage regulator for maintaining a uniform play between the brake surfaces. A nut that is disposed upon a threaded spindle is connected with first coupling surfaces that cooperate with second coupling surfaces disposed on the piston of the control or operating cylinder. A coupling element that is provided with the first coupling surfaces is further provided with a centrally disposed pin that is guided in the piston of the cylinder. A spring or other member that is under pressure is clamped onto the pin, with this member being secured in such a way that it cannot shift parallel to the axis of the pin nor can it rotate with the pin.

  • Patent number: 4865166
Abstract: An assembly and disassembly system for a spring of a brake actuation unit, in particular for rail vehicles including a fluid pressure cylinder and a piston slidable in the cylinder. A cylindrical nut member is provided having a tubular portion extending outwardly of the piston. An output head is connected to the tubular portion and includes an outer tubular portion extending towards the piston. A compression spring is provided disposed between the tubular portion of the cylindrical nut member and the outer tubular portion of the output head. A sleeve member is disposed between the spring and the outer tubular portion of the output head. This sleeve is provided with a slot which extends in an axial direction along the sleeve. The outer tubular portion includes an opening which may be aligned with the sleeve slot. A member such as a pin is provided which extends through the opening into the slot holding the sleeve and the outer tubular portion in a position engaged around the spring.

  • Patent number: 4833975
Abstract: An integrated manual brake device on a brake actuation unit, particularly for rail vehicles, and it includes a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder. The brake actuation unit contains a linkage setter including two parts displaceable relative to each other in a telescopic fashion. One of the parts is formed as a threaded spindle and the other tubular part is firmly connected with a nut which is screwed on the spindle with a nonselflocking thread. A stop is provided on the tubular part fixed in an axial direction but easily turnable. An actuating spring is clamped between the piston and the output part.

  • Patent number: 4785717
Abstract: A brake actuation unit comprises a fluid pressure cylinder with a piston movable in the cylinder which has a central projection portion with a recess having axially spaced opposed coupling surfaces. The spindle is centrally arranged in respect to the piston and a nut is threadable on the spindle and has a tubular portion terminating in a flange which has a flange projecting portion extending into the recess of the piston projection portion and it has opposed coupling surfaces engageable with respective opposed coupling surfaces of the piston projecting portion so as to form respective axially opposite direction of movement coupling pairs. The guide sleeve is positioned over in spaced relationship to the nut tubular portion and has a radially extending collar on an end thereof adjacent the piston. An output head is movable in an axial direction to apply a braking force and has a tubular portion telescopically engaged over the guide sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4004659
Abstract: A closure for a brake jaw holder for disc brakes, especially for use in connection with rail vehicles, in which a closure latch extends in a direction transverse to the guiding direction of the brake lining and in which the lining in a closing manner extends from the rear side of the lining carrier into an opening provided therein. At both sides of the opening in the closure latch there is provided an oblong opening extending perpendicularly with regard to the surface of the lining carrier while the pertaining bolt or pin is arranged on the lining carrier. Elastic spring structure is provided for arresting the closure latch when the bolt or pin occupies either one of its end positions in the oblong opening.
