Patents by Inventor Hans Rudolf Edward Frankfort

Hans Rudolf Edward Frankfort has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20040152387
Abstract: This invention relates to a new nonwoven material which has very high Frazier permeability while having substantial hydrostatic head liquid barrier properties. The material is comprised of fibers which are approximately one denier and finer fibers which have sufficient strength properties so as not to need a support scrim. The fabric is quite comfortable because of its breathability, quite soft because of its construction, and protective from liquids from rain to hazardous chemicals.

  • Publication number: 20040097158
Abstract: This invention relates to a nonwoven sheet material with high air permeability and substantial hydrostatic head liquid barrier properties. The sheet material is comprised of at least 90%, by weight, melt spun substantially continuous filament polymer fibers having an average cross sectional area of less than about 90 square microns. The sheet material has a basis weight of less than 125 g/m2 and a grab tensile strength of at least 0.7 N/(g/m2). The invention is also directed to a process for melt spinning polymer fibers that can be used to make the nonwoven sheet material of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5827464
Abstract: A direct melt spinning process for providing high filament count fine filament polyester yarns having excellent mechanical quality and along-end uniformity and unitary interlace by spinning all the filaments of such high filament count yarn from a single spinneret. Such yarns may be used as direct-use yarns and as draw-feed yarns for preparing drawn flat yarns and draw-textured yarns.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 7, 1995
Date of Patent: October 27, 1998
Assignee: E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: David George Bennie, Robert James Collins, Hans Rudolf Edward Frankfort, Stephen Buckner Johnson, Benjamin Hughes Knox, Joe Forrest London, Jr., Elmer Edwin Most, Jr., Girish Anant Pai

  • Patent number: 5691057
Abstract: Polyester mixed fine filament yarns having excellent mechanical quality and uniformity, and preferably with a balance of good dyeability and shrinkage, are prepared by a simplified direct spin-orientation process by selection of polymer and spinning conditions.
