  • Patent number: 5691282
Abstract: Lubricant composition for use on workpieces in the hot forming of metals, which contains:(a.sub.1) 0 to 80 percent by weight of a glass powder,(a.sub.2) 0 to 50 percent by weight of a glass frit whereby the content of at least one component (a.sub.1) or (a.sub.2) in the lubricant composition is not 0 percent by weight,(b) 10 to 25 percent by weight of natural or synthetic graphite,(c) 5 to 20 percent by weight of one or more alkali metal silicates of the general formula Me.sub.2 O.n SiO.sub.2, where Me is lithium, potassium or sodium and n is a number between 1 and 4,(d) 1 to 6 percent by weight of a water-soluble sodium polymetaphosphate,(e) 0 to 3 percent by weight of a water-insoluble sodium polymetaphosphate,(f) 0.5 to 4 percent by weight of a thickener, and(g) 0 to 1 percent by weight of borax.

  • Patent number: 5271854
Abstract: Lubricant for use in hot forming of steel at high temperatures and especially in the production of seamless tubes in so-called multiple pipe mills, in which the lubricant must adhere water-resistant to the tool. This is achieved by a lubricant containing, besides a solid lubricant and a thickening agent, a binding agent from the series of the carboxylated styrene-butadiene latices.

  • Patent number: 4735734
Abstract: Solid lubricants which are used in the non-cutting hot forming of metals. Lubricants containing graphite and polymers are presuspended in a colloid mill in water as a carrier liquid and immediately thereafter are subjected to a further mixing process in an intensive mixer, thereby being processed to a stable suspension.

  • Patent number: 4597526
Abstract: Process and apparatus for the superfine spraying of suspensions which tend to form films and resinificate upon contact with air. An example of such suspensions are the suspensions for spraying high temperature lubricants formulated on a graphite basis with additions of alkylene polymerizates to a dispersion agent. The apparatus has a spray head with a nozzle opening, a die which can be pushed through the nozzle opening and a sieve insert. The suspension is sprayed in the most finely distributed form through an air atomizer nozzle by means of a pressure gas which is oversaturated or saturated with a liquid.

  • Patent number: 4217220
Abstract: A perpendicular-standing rotary filter for the continuous separation of coarse particles from a suspension. The rotary filter has an upper part which includes a cylindrical filter basket disposed centrally in a cylindrical jacket. A chamber for the filtered material is formed by the space between the cylindrical jacket and the filter jacket of the filter basket. At least one centrally-located rotable scraper is continuously forced by means of a compression spring against the filter jacket. The rotary filter also has a lower part which includes a sump chamber in which at least one rotable stirring sheet is centrally disposed and which continuously presents (or always contains) one outlet for the filtered material and one outlet for the separated material. Preferably at least three scrapers are disposed in the filter basket. Also, preferably at least three stirring sheets are disposed in the sump chamber. The rotary filter can be a pressure filter.

  • Patent number: 4146179
Abstract: An apparatus for the spraying of a disperse system and which has a spray head with a hole-type nozzle. A plunger is present which is movably disposed inside the spray head and is shiftable in front of the aperture of the hole-type nozzle. A screen insert is present which is disposed in the spray head between the inlet for the disperse system and the hole-type nozzle. A scraper for the screen insert is present which is disposed between the inlet for the disperse system and the screen insert in such a manner that the scraper, upon movement of the plunger, sweeps the screen surface. An outlet, for the oversized particles scraped off of the screen surface, which is located between the inlet and the screen insert. A process for using the apparatus to spray a disperse system.
