    Abstract: An electrohydraulic valve control (10) of an internal combustion engine includes at least one actuator (24) that acts on a gas exchange valve (38). This actuator (24) in turn has at least one working chamber (30), which in order to switch the actuator (24) from a first position into a second position, is connected to a high-pressure hydraulic accumulator (16) and shut off from a low-pressure return (56). In order to switch the actuator (24) from the second position back into the first position, the working chamber (30) is connected to the low-pressure return (56) and shut off from the high-pressure hydraulic accumulator (16). The pressure in the high-pressure hydraulic accumulator (16) is kept constant or reduced in a simple manner by virtue of the working chamber (30) being connected to the high-pressure hydraulic accumulator (16) and the low-pressure return (56) at the same time.

    Abstract: A device for a combined blowout of fuel and air for fuel injection systems in internal combustion engines having a housing with fuel and air connections and a hollow, elongated housing neck having a blowout opening on an end that communicates with the fuel and air connection. Disposed on an end of the housing neck is an electromagnetically actuated valve element, which is pressed onto a valve seat by a valve closing spring. To make the device more efficient for fuel preparation, the valve seat is disposed on a coaxial inner tube that penetrates the housing neck and which extends into the blowout opening. The outer diameter of the inner tube is smaller than the inside diameter of the housing neck. The interior of the inner tube communicates with the fuel connection and the annular chamber enclosed by the inner tube and the housing neck communicates with the air connection.

    Abstract: An internal combustion engine is proposed with combustion chambers, comprising a main combustion chamber and an ignition chamber, the latter being connected to the main combustion chamber by at least one spill port, for the purpose of improving the ignitability of a relatively lean fuel mixture of an internal combustion engine. In this connection, the ignition chamber forms an elongated, closed cylinder wherein terminate spill ports from the main combustion chamber essentially radially and tangentially to the cylindrical wall of the ignition chamber, so that a turbulence is created in the medium introduced via the spill ports along the cylindrical walls of the ignition chamber, with a secondary swirl flowing back in the center. Thereby, a satisfactory separation of the freshly introduced medium from the residual gases remaining in the ignition chamber after the combustion is attained, thus providing optimum conditions for the ignition of the fuels utilized for operating the internal combustion engine.

An ignition device inserted into the ignition chamber, with an electrode, forms a spark gap toward the cylindrical wall of the ignition chamber in the region between the middle of the ignition chamber and the transfer channels. To improve the stability of the electrode, the electrode is provided with a heat conductor so as to provide more severely leaning of the fuel-air mixture to be ignited while avoiding glow sparking and reducing the emission of noise.
