Abstract: The disclosure embraces an apparatus for handling wire at a work station of an electric coil making machine where conductive wire is wrapped around a spool to form an electric coil with a number of spools being carried from work station to work station on spool carriers mounted on a turret head; at a final work station a pair of clamps are mounted on arms which are pivoted from a rest position to a clamping position to grasp and hold the wire extending between adjacent spools on the turret head while the wire is severed by a knife; the length of wire between a spool and an adjacent clamping device is then wrapped on a connecting peg of an individual spool until the wire is broken; the clamping device is then pivoted back to its rest position for disposal of the wire remnants held by the clamping device.

Abstract: A device for securing the winding ends of coils on terminal pins of the coil body comprising a rotatably driven coiling member having an axial aperture for receiving a terminal pin, a groove extending axially through the coiling member and arranged eccentrically with respect to the axis of rotation of the coiling member, for accommodating the end of a winding, the groove being alignable on rotation of the coiling member with a longitudinal slot in a bearing of the coiling member so as to allow the winding end to pass through the slot into the groove.

Abstract: A device for applying adhesive tape to wire coils comprising a support pivotable between an operative and inoperative position and carrying a pressure pad for urging tape against a wire coil. A slide on the support is movable towards and away from the pressure pad and carries a roller for pulling tape towards the pressure pad when the slide moves in that direction. A cutter is movable between the slide and the pressure pad for cutting the tape.

Abstract: Tricyclo [5,4,0,0.sup.3,9 ] undeca-5,10-dien-2-ones and tricyclo [5,4,0,0.sup.3,8 ] undeca-5,9-dien-2-ones which are useful in the perfumary art and a process for their preparation from phenols and cyclohexenones.
