  • Publication number: 20070090209
Abstract: The method is used for refining a paper fiber suspension (S). This is refined chiefly by compressive forces between two refining surfaces (1, 2) that lie on refiner tools pressed against one another, since the refiner tools in the refining zone do not move or move very little relative to one another. The refining surfaces (1, 2) are embodied to be porous so that they can temporarily absorb or discharge part of the water (W) of the paper fiber suspension (S). An arrangement with central refiner cylinder (3) and refiner rolls (4) arranged on the periphery is particularly suitable as a device for carrying out the method. The refining surfaces can be embodied cylindrically or they can be provided with a toothing.

  • Patent number: 6073865
Abstract: A process is disclosed that is utilized in particular in the preparation of fibrous material of used paper. Hot fibrous pulp friable materials, which are especially suitable for dispersing, are first formed in a compact, high-consistency fibrous material in the form of a plug. In a preferred embodiment, the plug of materials is pushed against a rotor that is equipped with pulverization elements. The pulverization elements remove the fibrous pulp friable materials and distribute them in a disintegrated condition in a processing chamber. In the processing chamber, super-heated vapor is supplied via vapor supply lines, which calefies the fibrous pulp friable materials, for example, by condensation.

  • Patent number: 5904308
Abstract: Treatment tools for the mechanical treatment of high-consistency fibrous material, and preferably for dispersing waste paper. The treatment tools are provided with teeth and are moved past one another with tight spacing so that the fibrous material disposed between treatment tool may be subjected to high shearing forces. Because of the intense loading of the teeth, the teeth may be arranged together in groups. The groups utilize at least one intermediary piece positioned between adjacent teeth to form at least a corresponding closed gap between the adjacent teeth of the treatment tools. As a result, a higher mechanical strength of the teeth is achieved and a large through flow area is offered for the material to be treated.

  • Patent number: 5730376
Abstract: The invention is directed to a processing apparatus which can be used, for example, to disperse highly consistent fibrous paper substances. The apparatus consists of at least two intermeshed processing tools (1, 2), which are movable with respect to one another and which are provided with teeth (3, 3', 3", 4, 4"). The fibrous substance that is being processed passes along a gap between the processing tools and finally leaves the apparatus through an expulsion mechanism (8) that allows the adjustment of the size of the exit opening through which the substance exits. The control of the size of the exit opening allows control over the degree of compression acting on the substance and the fill level of the apparatus, both of which in effect control the process intensity.

The treatment tools are provided with teeth and are moved past one another with tight spacing so that the fibrous material disposed between treatment tool may be subjected to high shearing forces. Because of the intense loading of the teeth, the teeth may be arranged together in groups. • Patent number: 5406883
Abstract: A process is proposed for the dewatering of compressibly dewaterable materials, in particular waste from the processing of paper material, which enables a very high degree of dewatering so that the waste can be readily disposed of, e.g. dumped. For this purpose, the material to be dewatered is initially pre-dewatered by gravity, and usually also by compression, in a transportation section (5). This pre-dewatering can take place in a continually operating feed section (7) through a perforated sieve jacket (10). The material then reaches a press section (6) in which a discontinuously working pressing device is in operation. Further improvements in the dewatering performance are possible by various embodiments of the corresponding pressing elements (13,14). The invention relates to both the process and the device for implemention of the process.

  • Patent number: 5390592
Abstract: A press for the mechanical dewatering of water-containing pulverised solid material is provided with a rotatable feed screw (3) which is so floatably mounted that it can perform a rotary pendular pivoting movement about a swivel point (D) lying in the area of the drive. Thereby, a high dewatering power is achieved with advantagous wear properties of the press. By special formation of the region where the solid material leaves the feed section (3), the effect and operating behavior can be further improved.

The striking mass can comprise a first elastomeric and/or plastic component and a second heavy metal component. Three guides which can be parallel to the movement path of the center of gravity are provided for the guidance of the striking mass, the striking mass is preferably constructed so as to be guided at its respective end areas. The ram device and the striking mass preferably have a symmetry plane defined by the axis of the hydraulic cylinder and the movement path of the center of gravity and the guides located out of the symmetry plane are arranged in two planes which are at an angle of 120.degree. or less relative to each other and symmetrically disposed on each side of the symmetry axis.

  • Patent number: 4552462
Abstract: A vane shaft is suspended within a container in a pendulum or swinging fashion at its drive shaft by means of a pivotable coupling. The drive shaft can constitute the output shaft of a drive arrangement composed of a drive motor equipped with a transmission or gearing unit and supported upon a radial arm member. The drive motor together with its transmission also can be arranged in or at a central axis of the orbiting or revolving path of movement of the vane shaft, and the drive shaft can connect the drive motor equipped with the transmission with the vane shaft in the manner of a Cardan shaft. The vane shaft also can be directly suspended at the vertical output shaft of the transmission or gearing arrangement by means of a pivotable coupling. At the lower end of the vane shaft there is secured a buoyant or float body member serving for the lateral deflection of the vane shaft.
