  • Patent number: 11931273
Abstract: A method for controlling an artificial orthotic or prosthetic knee joint, on which a lower-leg component is arranged and with which a resistance device is associated, the bending resistance (R) of which resistance device is changed in dependence on sensor data that are determined by at least one sensor during the use of the orthotic or prosthetic knee joint, wherein a linear acceleration (aF) of the lower-leg component is determined, the determined linear acceleration (aF) is compared with at least one threshold value, and, if a threshold value of the linear acceleration (aF) of the lower-leg component is reached, the bending resistance (R) is changed.

  • Publication number: 20240089012
Abstract: A signal transmission system for transmitting a main process variable and further data between a field device and a superordinate unit, includes a first conversion arrangement, a second conversion arrangement and an optocoupler arrangement. The optocoupler arrangement is connected between the first conversion arrangement and the second conversion arrangement. The first conversion arrangement is configured to convert at least the further data exchanged between the field device and the superordinate unit into a data signal transmittable via the optocoupler arrangement. The optocoupler arrangement transmits the data signal between the first conversion arrangement and the second conversion arrangement. The second conversion arrangement converts the data signal to the further data and transmits it to the field device. A method transmits a main process variable and further data between a field device and a superordinate unit. In the method, at least the further data is transmitted via an optocoupler arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5798924
Abstract: A process for producing endoprosthesis has the data block of a three-dimensional actual model (10) of the existing bone structure of a patient acquired using CT scanning. In a computer the actual model (10) thus determined is subtracted from the data block of an existing or CT scan-generated three-dimensional reference model (14). Then from the difference a computer-internal model for the endoprosthesis is formed. With this process, it is possible to reduce the work required for making the corrective adaptation of the endoprosthesis and to avoid faulty adaptations. The data blocks of the actual model (10) and reference model (14) are converted into the data of a CAD free form surface geometry. This is done by describing the limiting surfaces of the models through Spline and Bezier functions oriented to points of support and are imaged, and superimposed, on the computer monitor.

  • Patent number: 4048974
Abstract: An external auto-ignited four stroke cycle gas engine with a combustion chamber which is arranged in the piston rotation symmetrically with regard to the cylinder axis and which in the upper dead center point of the piston absorbs nearly the total gas-air mixture. The engine, furthermore, includes means for imparting turbulence upon the gas-air mixture about the longitudinal cylinder axis, and also has a trough which is arranged in the cylinder head, and into which a spark plug extends. The combustion chamber in the form of a truncated cone open and widening toward the cylinder head has a substantially plane bottom while the greatest diameter of this truncated cone-shaped combustion chamber equals from 55 to 70% of the piston diameter and the depth of this combustion chamber is in a range from 15 to 20% of the piston diameter. The mantle surface of the combustion chamber is at an angle of from 10.degree. to 30.degree. inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder.
