  • Patent number: 6263654
Abstract: An arrangement for a ring spinning machine for condensing a drafted but untwisted fiber strand includes a drum which transports the fiber strand through a condensing zone. The drum is provided on its outer sleeve with a perforation. In order that the perforation can be particularly fine and close-meshed, the outer sleeve of the drum forms a supporting skeleton, which comprises openings, which are covered over by a thin sieve belt, preferably a woven tape. The sieve belt extends over a suction slit located in the condensing zone. The skeleton is so formed that in the area of nipping points, formed together with the drum, the skeleton is sufficiently resistant.

  • Patent number: 6237317
Abstract: A condensing zone is arranged downstream of the main drafting area of a drafting assembly of a ring spinning machine, which condensing zone is defined on one side by a front roller pair of the drafting assembly and on the other side by a nipping roller which presses a drafted fiber strand against a supporting surface. The peripheral speed of the nipping roller is from 3% to 8% greater than the peripheral speed of the front roller pair. The fiber strand to be condensed obtains thus a lasting draft in the condensing zone.

  • Patent number: 6223514
Abstract: A condensing zone is arranged downstream of the front roller pair of a drafting arrangement of a spinning machine, in which condensing zone a drafted fiber strand is condensed. The condensing zone comprises a sliding surface having a suction slit, which sliding surface serves as a guide for a circulating air-permeable transport belt. The transport belt transports the fiber strand over the suction slit to a nipping roller, which presses the fiber strand and the transport belt against the sliding surface. The perforation of the transport belt presents a risk, namely that fiber fly or other impurities can be deposited between the sliding surface and the supporting surface of the transport belt arranged thereto. For this reason it is provided that the sliding surface has at least one sharp edge, which extends transversely to the transport direction and which scrapes the supporting surface. The sharp edge lies preferably in the area of the supporting surface which covers the suction slit.

  • Patent number: 6216433
Abstract: Flyer drafting arrangements deliver drafted fiber strands, whose width is greater than their height. Because of this, a condensing zone is often arranged downstream of the flyer drafting arrangements, which bundles the respective fiber strand laterally. Up to now, such condensing zones comprised mechanical condensers, which produced very unsatisfactory results. It is therefore provided in the present invention that a pneumatic condensing device is arranged at the condensing zone arranged downstream of the flyer drafting rollers. This condensing device can comprise a suction slit extending essentially in transport direction of the fiber strand, which suction slit is covered by an air-permeable transporting surface which guides the fiber strand.

  • Patent number: 6185790
Abstract: A condensing zone for condensing a drafted twist-free fiber strand is arranged downstream of a drafting arrangement of a ring spinning machine. The condensing zone includes a stationary sliding surface having a suction slit extending essentially in a fiber strand transport direction. A perforated transport belt transports the fiber strand over the suction slit of the sliding surface. The transport belt wraps around a bottom roller of a front roller pair of the drafting arrangement and is driven by the bottom roller. The transport belt drives in turn a nipping roller, which limits the condensing zone on its exit side with a nipping point serving as a twist block. The nipping roller presses the fiber strand and the transport belt against the sliding surface of the condensing zone.

  • Patent number: 6058693
Abstract: A spinning process provides for opening at least one sliver to single fibers and for depositing the single fibers on a moving collecting surface in the form of an expanded fiber veil. During transport on the collecting surface and, if required on a moving drafting surface downstream thereof, the fiber veil is condensed, transversely to its direction of motion, to a strand. The roving-like strand is transported through a nipping line and twisted to a yarn under the action of a rotating air stream. Fiber ends are hereby spread out from the strand, which are helically wrapped around the yarn.

  • Patent number: 5899056
Abstract: In a spinning process for producing a yarn, fiber material in the form of at least one sliver is opened to a fibrous veil consisting of single fibers, and is deposited on an air-permeable suctioned collecting surface. The speed of the fibrous veil transported on the collecting surface is preferably not higher than the speed of the drawn off yarn. Before reaching the yarn formation line located on the collecting surface, the fibrous veil is divided into a plurality of fiber accumulations and thereby pre-twisted to strands. The position and travelling direction of the strands on the collecting surface is defined by guiding edges of suction slits. The individual strands are guided off transversely to the yarn formation line, whereby the extent of the pre-twist and the extent of the transport force is determined by the angle of the strands to the yarn formation line. Pre-twisted strands are wound around each other along the yarn formation line so that a type of ply-twisted yarn arises.

  • Patent number: 5603468
Abstract: A tube coupling system for spindles of spinning or twisting machines is provided with two through bore holes arranged at right angles to each other, slightly spaced in an axial direction of a spindle upper part. Two retractable, substantially cylindrical, centrifugal bodies are set in each through bore hole, the centrifugal bodies lying diametrically opposite each other on the outer circumference of the spindle upper part. Directly adjacent of a convex-shaped tube coupling surface, the centrifugal bodies have a conical shoulder arranged on a corresponding opposite surface of the spindle upper part to stop the centrifugal body from falling out. The opposite surface is formed during assembly of the tube coupling system by plastic deformation, whereby the diameter of the though bore holes on the outer circumference of the spindle upper part is reduced somewhat. The advancing of the coupling surfaces against the tube is not hindered during spinning.
