Abstract: Disclosed is a user interface for interactively exploring data objects associated with a business context. The user interface includes a business data explorer having an object navigation panel and a side panel. The object navigation panel is operable for displaying a first one of the data objects as a data object of current interest to a user for further exploration. The side panel is operable for displaying a second one of the data objects as a supplementary data object, based at least in part on the business context defined at least in part by an application having the data objects.

Abstract: Conflict avoidance and conflict detection and resolution methods are provided for transaction processing in a distributed computing system. For conflict avoidance, first data for a transaction is generated in a first computing system and is used in executing a dependent process for the transaction in a second computing system that is integrated with the first computing system by an asynchronous messaging system. The first data is sent to the second computing system in a first asynchronous message. The first computing system receives from the second computing system a second asynchronous message with second data that identifies when a predefined event of the transaction, dependent on the first data, is to occur. User alteration of the first data for the transaction in the first computing system is then prevented after a preconfigured time period before when the predefined event is identified to occur.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for establishing an availability check framework. In one embodiment, a method is provided that comprises defining a plurality of inclusive rules, each inclusive rule specifying at least one of a location and a product to be checked for availability, and defining a plurality of exclusive rules, each exclusive rule specifying at least one of a location or product which is excluded from being checked for availability, wherein the plurality of rules are provided for selection within an availability check procedure. The at least one exclusive rule of the plurality of exclusive rules may include at least one indication which is representative of at least one time period in which the exclusion of the at least one location or product specified in the respective exclusive rule is valid.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing a product order which is directed from a customer to a first supplier. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided that includes receiving a product order from a customer. Based on the received product order, the method determines products to be procured by a supplier that is external with respect to the first supplier. The method further determines at least one external supplier which is able to provide the products and transmits a purchase order for the available products to the external supplier.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing a customer order specifying products and required quantities. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method performs a plurality of availability checks for the specified products with at least one location. Each availability check creates a result that comprises one or more products, locations, and available quantities. The method includes replacing the products and corresponding locations if a sum of available quantities within each of the results does not correspond to a required quantity of the specified products. The results may be arranged according to product and location. Further, the method may include selecting a plurality of results from the arranged results, wherein at least one of a number of different locations and a number of different products within the plurality of results is predetermined.

In one implementation, a method is provided comprising determining a packaging specification out of a plurality of packaging specifications, extracting parameter values form the determined packaging specification and rounding, according to a predetermined packaging specification, the required quantity of products to a multiple of packages.

Abstract: Embodiments include a system for providing a set of services that retrieve requested data and calculate a requested value. The data retrieval service may traverse a set of related data structures such as data in a document or in a database to accumulate and return requested data. The data calculation service may determine an appropriate algorithm based on the data being processed and return a value. The data calculation service may call the data retrieval service to obtain the necessary data. These services may be independent services separate from other software applications. These services provide standard data determination and calculation functions across multiple applications and are accessible in a common software layer.
