  • Patent number: 11506378
Abstract: The present application provides a once-through evaporator system. The once-through evaporator system may include a number of once-through evaporator sections having an upstream distribution valve and a downstream temperature sensor and a position controller in communication with each distribution valve.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2018
Date of Patent: November 22, 2022
    Assignee: General Electric Technology GmbH
Inventors: Petrus Johannes Koller, Hans Ulrich Lenherr, Alexander Taylor, Stefan Lukas Gysel
  • Patent number: 11092331
Abstract: The present application provides a once-through evaporator system. The once-through evaporator system may include a number of enlarged once-through evaporator sections, a first superheater positioned immediately downstream of the enlarged once-through evaporator sections, a second superheater positioned downstream of the first superheater, and an attemperator positioned between the first superheater and the second superheater.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 16, 2018
Date of Patent: August 17, 2021
    Assignee: General Electric Technology GmbH
Inventors: Christoph Bernhard Ruchti, Petrus Johannes Koller, Chuan Wang, Jeffrey Fredrick Magee, Hans Ulrich Lenherr, Alexander Taylor
  • Patent number: 11092332
Abstract: The present application provides a once-through evaporator system. The once-through evaporator system may include a number of once-through evaporator sections with a distribution valve and a level sensor and a controller in communication with each distribution valve. The controller provides the distribution valve with a position set point and biases the position set point via a feedforward signal based on a fill level as determined by the level sensor in each of the once-through evaporator sections.

  • Patent number: 9453428
Abstract: A water/steam cycle includes a steam generator, a steam turbine, a water cooled condenser and a feedwater pump. The condenser includes within a condenser shell at least one tube bundle with an internal air cooler, which is connected to an external ejector/vacuum pump by means of a suction line. In order to reduce the condenser evacuation time at the start-up of the water/steam cycle without using auxiliary steam, an additional evacuation line with a motorized isolating valve connects the external ejector/vacuum pump with the condenser shell. The action of the isolating valve is controlled by means of a control.
