  • Patent number: 9388921
Abstract: A plug-in piece 1 for sealing connection of two mutually assigned cylindrical surfaces includes an essentially tubular support body 2, which on its ends exhibits annularly encircling sealing elements, which can be made to engage to produce a sealing connection with the cylindrical surfaces to be sealed, wherein at least one of the sealing elements is configured as an annularly encircling sealing bead 3, 30 on the outer surface of the support body 2, with a spherically curved sealing surface. Provision is made that the spherical radius of the sealing surface (3, 30) is chosen so that the center of the sphere is roughly at the axis of support body (2) symmetry. Thus, the compression forces are ensured to remain largely constant, independent of the angular setting over the entire surface of the sealing bead.

  • Publication number: 20120107650
Abstract: A valve apparatus (4) is provided for a housing (2) of an electrochemical current source (1). Furthermore, the magnetic valve apparatus (4) is provided for, among other things, battery housings, fuel cell housings as well as chemical or biological reactors. As a result of using a magnetic valve apparatus (4) as an excess pressure valve, the housing (2) can be designed to operate safely even after years of use, and in addition, the valve apparatus (4) can automatically change back into the closed position after an opening and a pressure degradation and can thus build up again a protection against the penetration of fluids into the inner space (5) of the housing without external action.

  • Publication number: 20120040217
Abstract: A closing element for closing an opening (3) of a battery housing (1), including a cover (5), whereby the cover (5) comprises a connection groove (6) into which groove a wall (13) of a battery housing (1) can be inserted, whereby a connection piece (7) that can be deformed without destruction projects from the cover (5) and whereby the connection piece (7) is provided with a nipple (8). The closing element solves the problem of designing and further developing a battery housing in such a manner that it has a reliable tightness in normal operation but in abnormal occurrences it allows gases to escape without problems and in a directed manner without parts of the battery housing or of a valve being slung away in an uncontrolled manner.

  • Patent number: 6896270
Abstract: There is provided a sealing device (10) for a unitised grease-or oil-lubricated package bearing assembly comprising a twin outer race (14) and two inner races (15, 16) arranged next to each other on a shaft (12), with their faces abutting. Typically, oil may be present between the said shaft (12) and the bore surfaces of the bearing inner races (15, 16), for the purpose of lubricating parts of the system adjacent to the bearing, but not the sealed, lubricated bearing itself. The scaling device comprises a substantially annular sealing portion (26) and the provision of a step (29) in the abutting face of one of the inner races such that a substantially rectangular-section groove (30) is created on the outside diameter of the abutting inner races (15, 16).

  • Patent number: 6318502
Abstract: In a compressor that can be used for supplying compressed air in motor vehicles and also for stationary systems, permanent oil filling is provided for cooling a compressor pressure area including a cylinder head and for lubricating a transmission area including a drive shaft and swash plate. The pressure area of the compressor that can be heated by the heat of compression and friction and the transmission area of the compressor are separated from one another by check valves with a delivery pump wheel being provided which transports the oil between the transmission area and the pressure area in such fashion that the oil that is heated in the pressure area is cooled in the transmission area. By cooling the oil in the transmission area, it is possible for a middle housing section of the compressor housing, as well as a housing section delimited by a cylinder head and receiving the piston arrangement, to be made of plastic.

  • Patent number: 6247901
Abstract: In an axial piston compressor, especially a swash plate compressor for generating compressed air in motor vehicles, an oil-lubricated drive and an air compressor part that operates without oil are provided. The pistons that travel in cylinder bores under the guidance of a swash plate each have at their backs the intake chamber formed by chambers and a pressure chamber on the front. Intake valves are mounted on the pistons, while pressure valves are provided in cylinder head, cooled by cooling oil or water. The seal between oil-lubricated drive and the compressor part that operates without oil is provided by sealing elements that act on the outer circumference of the piston rods of the pistons.

  • Patent number: 5792245
Abstract: A drying cartridge for air drying systems, especially for compressed-air brake systems of vehicles, has an inner pot and an outer pot. The components used for the air drying, including a pressure spring used for compressing the drying agent, are arranged inside the inner pot constructed as a preassembled unit, in which case the inner pot can be inserted flush into the outer pot. By usage of an interior-cylindrical wall, the inner pot surrounds a duct which penetrates the drying cartridge in the axial center, through which duct a screw is guided for fastening the drying cartridge on the dryer casing.

  • Patent number: 5779772
Abstract: In a drying cartridge for air drying installations, especially for vehicle air-brake systems, an air drying agent is contained inside an outer pot, the base region of which can be closed off by a face cover. A central screw with a thread at its end passing through the face cover and securable to the dryer casing extends axially and centrally through the drying cartridge. The face cover, which may be made of thin plastic, can move to a limited extent in relation to the outer pot of the drying cartridge and is secured by clamping or friction to an O-ring which in turn is introduced into an annular groove in the central screw such that, after the drying cartridge has been released from the dryer casing, the cartridge can still be handled as a structural unit.

  • Patent number: 4765651
Abstract: An adjustable seat belt system having a plurality of anchor fittings where one or more anchoring slide block fittings comprise a gear mounted to the anchoring slide block for positioning the anchoring slide block along a track by a manual rotation device or electric motor for rotating the gear interacting with a rack located on the track. The anchoring slide block fitting can also be repositioned by rotating a screw which repositions the anchor. A double-pole double-throw switch is activated to energize the motor to move the block to a selected position.

  • Patent number: 4669751
Abstract: A safety belt retractor mechanism for vehicle passengers is described which has an apparatus for selectively relieving belt retractive tension on the passenger. The apparatus may be either manually or automatically engaged at a first extensive position of the belt corresponding to the buckled up position such that, for a single extractive movement of the belt by a first predetermined amount of "slack", the belt is locked against further retractive movement below that position, thereby relieving the retractive tension of the belt on the wearer. Further extensive and retractive movements of the belt beyond the tensionless position and less than a second predetermined amount, such as would result from passenger forward movements to reach controls, etc., result in normal retractive tension in the belt against the passenger until the passenger returns to the buckled up position. The apparatus then "remembers" this position and restores the slack to the wearer.
