Patent number: 7922201Abstract: The invention relates to a swivelable roll bar, in particular for construction vehicles, with two vertical carriers, each of which has a pair of spars, whereby in each, one spar is connected swivelably through a link joint with the another spar, and the link joint comprises a lock and a stop. The stop consists of a joint stiffener, which is built as an extension of one spar and partially grips about the end of the other. In addition to that, the lock has a continuously adjustable final control element, with which the joint stiffener can be braced against the other spar. With the grip about the other spar, the flexural strength of the link joint of the swivelable roll bar is increased. Further, the bracing of the joint stiffener against the other spar eliminates the play in the link joint. The joint stiffener is preferably built as a U-shaped tubular segment that is attached to the latter as an extension of the spar.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2010Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: BOMAG GmbHInventors: Hans-Werner Kürten, Karl-Harmann Mötz

Publication number: 20100147090Abstract: A device for generating a circular oscillation or a directional oscillation is provided. The device provides a circular oscillation, or, if two parallel main shafts rotating synchronously in opposite directions are coupled, a directional oscillation, each main shaft having unbalance weights and a coupling between the unbalance weights and the oscillation amplitude of the exciter force per main shaft being continuously adjustable between a minimum value and a maximum value using an adjustment unit via the relative rotation of the unbalance weights toward or away from one another. The device includes unbalance weights that are mounted on the main shaft so they are rotatable thereon, and the coupling comprises a transmission medium connected rotationally fixed to the main shaft, which is composed so that it acts as a driver on the unbalance weights and also causes a pivoting of the unbalance weights in opposite directions upon the adjustment of the oscillation amplitude of the exciter force.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2009Publication date: June 17, 2010Applicant: BOMAG GMBHInventor: Hans-Werner Kuerten

Publication number: 20070089324Abstract: The present invention relates to a rear finisher for smoothing an outer surface, which is attached in the forward direction behind a device for outdoor preparation and particularly for snow piste preparation. In order to allow a uniform appearance of the piste surface, the rear finisher has a guide device, which is applied so that the material to be prepared is guided in front of the bottom of the rear finisher and subsequently smoothed thereby. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for smoothing an outdoor surface, in which the outer surface to be smoothed is smoothed by two different oscillating means guided one after another on the outdoor surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2006Publication date: April 26, 2007Inventors: Hans-Werner Kuerten, Peter Erdmann, Niels Laugwitz

Publication number: 20070079533Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for snow surface preparation for attachment to a tractor, comprising a vibration plate and a hydraulically driven exciter device for driving the vibration plate, with the exciter device being connectable to a working hydraulic system of the tractor and being driven by the same in such a way that a closed hydraulic circulation is produced between exciter device and working hydraulic system. In order to reduce the risk of overload of the exciter device, a control device is provided which monitors at least one operating parameter of the hydraulic circulation and functionally disconnects the exciter device from the working hydraulic system depending on a predetermined limit value for the at least one operating parameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2006Publication date: April 12, 2007Inventor: Hans-Werner Kuerten

Patent number: 6698531Abstract: A hand-guided vibration tamper, which is driven by a motor laterally cantilevered on the tamper head, is provided with guard plates covering its underside and lateral sides. The underside and lateral guard plates are connected to a housing for the motor, and the underside guard plate is fastened near its free end to the motor and/or an air circulation hood for the motor. Preferably, the underside guard plate is a thick-walled aluminum plate screwed together with the lateral guard plates and extends beyond to protect the air circulation hood with its extension. Advantageously, the motor is also protected by a substantially closed, upper covering connected to the lateral guard plates.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2002Date of Patent: March 2, 2004Assignee: Bomag GmbH & Co., oHGInventor: Hans-Werner Kürten
