  • Patent number: 7055580
Abstract: In a system for cleaning tubes of tube-bundle type heat exchangers including a plurality of tubes (5) arranged in parallel between two chambers (10a, 10b) and flown through by a fluid medium, in particular crude oil, at a temperature above 120° C., wherein, for cleaning the tubes (5), deposits on their inner walls, such as coking, dirt particles or the like, are detached by cleaning bodies passing through the tubes (5), and carried out of the tubes (5), for cleaning the inner wall of the plurality of tubes (5) of the heat exchanger during the operation of the heat exchanger (10), it is provided that the cleaning bodies (1a–1h) are formed in such a way that they are resistant to high temperatures (above 120° C.

  • Patent number: 6360896
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for cleaning liquid fluids, in particular for the cooling water running to a heat exchanger, having a portion of pipe of circular cross section as a housing, a screening body and a suction device, which can be moved about an axis, on the inflow side for regional suction removal and consequently for cleaning the screening body.

  • Patent number: 6223809
Abstract: A screening device for eliminating balls (6) for cleaning the tube of a heat exchanger, condenser or the like from a coolant line (7) comprises a screen (2) located in the outlet area of the heat exchanger, able to cover the free cross section of the coolant line (7) for collecting the balls (6) and progressively restricting the free cross section for the coolant for the collection of the balls (6) in the cooling medium flow direction and a removal line (3), positioned in the flow direction of the cooling medium behind the screen (2) in such a way that the balls (6) collected by the screen (2) are passed into the removal line (3) and leave the coolant line (7) via the removal line (3). For obtaining a less expensive construction for the screening device the screen (2) is fixed to the wall (7a) of the coolant line (7).

  • Patent number: 6070652
Abstract: The invention relates to a ball collector for a device for returning balls for the cleaning of the tubes of cooling systems operated with a fluid, namely water, comprising a casing which is subdivided into an upper chamber with an inlet for the balls and a lower chamber with an outlet for the balls, in which between the upper and the lower chambers is provided an opening which can be closed by a movable flap in the closed position thereof and can be opened in the open position thereof, the upper chamber having a strainer screen being connected to the lower chamber by a bypass line having a pump, through which water can be pumped from the upper chamber into the lower chamber.

  • Patent number: 5628898
Abstract: The invention relates to a backwashable filter, which comprises superimposed elements, particularly having an annular design, for producing filter candles. In the case of the filter candles the elements are subject to a radial through-flow from the inside to the outside in filter operation, whereas the flow direction is reversed for backwashing. On the inside of the filter layer is provided on each element a lip, elastically deflectable in the flow direction and facing the flow, which forms a gap opening with a fixed edge of the adjacent element. Under the action of the differential pressure of the flow acting on the wide front face of the lip, the lip performs a movement in which the gap opening is narrowed to a limited extent and as a result of the elastic deformation corresponding restoring forces are built up.

  • Patent number: 4904397
Abstract: In the cleansing especially of cooling water for a heat exchanger the installation of rotationally symmetric filter bodies in the cooling water feeder pipe and suction of sediments across a suction nozzle rotating on the windward side. Difficulties result therein in the production of a required back-flow through the filter and the avoidance of lateral airfluxes in front of the filter surface, as a certain gap is necessary between filter and suction nozzle for holding the sediments.
