  • Patent number: 6570308
Abstract: An electric lamp with a base (6), which is structurally subdivided into an upper part (7) that retains the bulb and a substantially circular-cylindrical lower part (5) for external fastening, which lower part protrudes past the upper part, and the protruding portion (13) is embodied as a detent mechanism for the external fastening. The detent mechanism in each case includes an inward-facing detent protrusion (20) located on the outside, which is an integral component of the lower part, and a metal spring (24), located opposite the detent protrusion and cooperating with it, that is secured in the lower part.

  • Patent number: 6281455
Abstract: A force-responsive sensor comprises upper and lower cover layers, one superimposed on the other. The underside of the upper layer carries a first conductive layer which is electrically insulated from a second conductive layer carried by the upper surface of the lower cover sheet by a series of electrically insulating spacers placed along the length of the sensor with longitudinally spaced gaps between them, each spacer extending over substantially the full width of the sensor and being obliquely inclined to the longitudinal direction of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6276812
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric lamp, comprising a base (3) having at least two V-shaped fixing plates (5; 6) with a first (5a, 6a) and a second elastic V-shaped limb (5b; 6b). The ends of the first V-shaped limb (5a, 6a) are formed on the base (3). The first V-shaped limb (5a; 6a) forms a location (7) to accommodate a tappet-like holder or connector part and the ends of the second V-shaped limb (5b; 6b) arm configured as free ends. The inventive lamp can be used in a sealed headlight of a motor vehicle and on a carrier plate fitted with several lamp holders and forming part of the tail lights of a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6095866
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric lamp, more particularly to a lamp for motor vehicle, the cap of which is provided with a metal support sleeve (53) constructed in the shape of a ring and at least one pressure spring (1) for securing the lamp in the lampholder. The at least one pressure spring (1) is constructed as a cambered leaf spring whose ends (11, 12) bear against the inner wall of the support sleeve and which has a V-shaped region (100) which reaches through a cutout (53b) in the support sleeve (53).

  • Patent number: 4153501
Abstract: A process for removing vaporizable constituents from high-viscosity solutions or melts of thermoplastics by continuous evaporation along a heated devolatilization zone and separation of the vapor phase from the liquid phase in a downstream separating vessel. The plastic solution or melt is first heated stepwise in increments, in the devolatilization zone, while the product is in the form of thin layers from about 0.5 to 4 mm, so as to maintain a temperature difference of less than 50.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4150719
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for heating or cooling very viscous solutions or melts of thermoplastics in the form of thin layers. The plastic solution or melt is spread under the temperature conditions of the feed solution or melt, and the thin layers are heated stepwise so that the temperature difference between the heat transfer medium and the solution or melt is at all times less than 50.degree. C. and preferably less than 20.degree. C. Viscous solutions or melts of thermoplastics can be heated or cooled rapidly and uniformly under gentle and controlled conditions, to prepare the solutions or melts for further treatment in conventional equipment.

  • Patent number: 4065532
Abstract: A process for admixing additives to plastics and simultaneously removing volatile constituents in a horizontal devolatilizing extruder. Taken in sequence in the direction of flow, the additives are first introduced into the devolatilizing extruder from above, and the plastic melt, solution or dispersion is then introduced from below, while the bulk of the volatile constituents are withdrawn from the devolatilizing extruder at an orifice located vertically above the point at which the plastic is fed in. The process permits the removal of volatile constituents with simultaneous admixture of additives during aftertreatment of plastics, in a single step and at very high throughputs.

  • Patent number: 4055084
Abstract: A liquid flow meter comprises a housing having a cylindrical piston chamber and a control chamber. A measuring piston is movable in the piston chamber and a flow control slider is movable in the control chamber and it has respective oppositely directed control surfaces which are made effective, by the flow of liquid between the inlet to the housing and a communication between the measuring piston chamber and the control chamber to move the control slider in a control direction. At each end position of the slider, there is a magnetic holding device for holding the slider until a predetermined control pressure is brought to bear against it to move it in an opposite direction. At each limit of its movement, the piston engages and charges an energy or power storage device operable to accelerate its movement in the opposite direction. The control movements of the slider for regulating the flow between the inlet and the outlet are varied in accordance with the position of the measuring piston.
