  • Patent number: 8439052
Abstract: An electric household appliance has a chamber that is at least partially filled with liquid during operation of the appliance. A motor drives a pump for drawing liquid from the chamber. A monitoring device detects the rotational speed and the power of the motor, compares detected values for the rotational speed and power to a predefined characteristic, and signals an exceptional state if the comparison indicates that the detected values deviate significantly from the characteristic.

Date of Patent: May 14, 2013
Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH

  • Patent number: 6949945
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for measuring the temperature of windings of a drive motor, especially a three-phase motor, which is supplied by a converter with three controlled half bridges from a direct current intermediate circuit. The method, a corresponding device, and a control system offer more accurate results with less complicated circuit engineering. To this end, one current flux traversing at least one of the windings of the motor is measured by the converter while approximately knowing at least one cold resistance and other parameters of the motor. A temperature change of the windings is calculated from a change in the current flux based on a change of the temperature-dependent resistance.

  • Patent number: 6684111
Abstract: An apparatus for power failure identification in a programmable household appliance includes an electronic program control apparatus having a first device disposed upstream of the mains switch on the power supply system side and a second device disposed downstream from the mains switch on the appliance side for identifying an electrical variable of the external power supply system or of the supply system in the household appliance. The program control apparatus compares the signals produced by each of the devices from the electrical variables to decide whether the failure or the change in the electrical variable of the household appliance is due to a failure of the external power supply system, or due to the household appliance being switched off deliberately.

  • Patent number: 4877463
Abstract: To produce threaded steel tension members, steel is used with a C-content of 0.50 to 0.80%, preferably 0.75%, a Si-content of 0.20 to 0.50%, preferably 0.25%, and a Mn content of 0.30 to 0.80%, preferably 0.60%. Exiting from the rolling heat at the outlet side of the finishing stand after hot rolling, the tension member or rod is subjected to surface quenching by a cooling medium, preferably water, so that the steel in a rim zone R.sub.1 is transformed immediately and completely into martensite, while the heat content remaining in the core zone K.sub.1 does not effect a tempering of the martensite rim zone during the subsequent cooling beyond the range of the intermediate stage.

  • Patent number: 4724346
Abstract: A permanent magnet-excited rotor motor is disclosed wherein, a circuit board (6) mounted on a radial motor attachment flange (22) is arranged. The front and rear sides of the circuit board (6) are equipped with conductor strips. On the front side, Hall transducers (15) influenced by rotor magnets (81) in a speed dependent manner are mounted. A flat cable brought in from the outside is divided into a first cable portion (12), passed through from the front with supply and signal voltage lines for the Hall transducers (15), and into a second cable portion (13) passed through from the back to the front with winding feed lines for the stator coil winding ends (14), which are likewise passed through from the back to the front of the circuit board (6) and thus can be soldered to the freely accessible front side.
