  • Patent number: 7493788
Abstract: A deep rolling roller head includes two housings for the deep rolling of the outer radii or fillets of split-pin crankshaft journals by means of two deep rolling rollers which are pressed into one of the two fillets under a rolling force while the crankshaft rotates around its axis of rotation. The two housings follow at the same time the different movements of the journals and support each other with their insides across from each other on a bearing plate. The insides of the housings bear on either side of the axis of rotation of the crankshaft and at a distance from it on an extension segment extending in the direction of the rolling force to below a contact point between the deep rolling rollers and the fillets to be deep-rolled. The bearing plate connected permanently to the inside and the extensions of one of the two housings.

  • Publication number: 20080209969
Abstract: The invention relates to a burnishing roller head (10) for burnishing radii (28) or recesses which respectively laterally define the bearing seats of main and lifting journals (3, 4) of crankshafts (1) for motors of motor vehicles. Two disk-shaped and cylindrical burnishing rollers (11, 12) with the same diameter and approximately the same width are arranged parallel and at a mutual distance from each other in the housing (9) of the burnishing roller head (10) and are mounted in such a way that they can rotate about a common horizontal rotational axis (18) in the housing (9) of the burnishing roller head (10). Said burnishing rollers (11, 12) respectively comprise, on the outer peripheral edges (22) thereof opposing each other, a rotating rounded projection (21) which enlarges the diameter of the respective burnishing roller (11, 12) by a pre-determined measure (24), the axial width of the burnishing roller (11, 12) extending simultaneously over a section of the projection close to the edge.

  • Publication number: 20080184756
Abstract: The invention relates to a deep rolling roller head (1) with two housings (6 and 7) for the deep rolling of the outer radii or indentations (2, 3) of split-pin crankshaft (5) lobes (4) by means of two deep rolling rollers (10, 11) which are pressed into one of the two indentations (2, 3) under the rolling force (12) while the crankshaft 5) rotates around its axis of rotation, the housings 6 and 7 follow at the same time the different movements of the lobes (4) and support each other with their insides (8, 9) across from each other on a bearing plate (24). The insides (8, 9) of the housings (6, 7) bear on either side of the axis of rotation (15) of the crankshaft (5) and at a distance (25) from it on an extension segment (26, 27) extending in the direction of rolling force (12) to below the contact point (36) between the deep rolling rollers (10, 11) and the indentations (2, 3) to be deep-rolled.
