  • Publication number: 20030131702
Abstract: The invention relates to a method comprising the following steps: a stack of sheets is moved under a blade in order to cut a first free strip of the stack of sheets; the first strip is cut; the stack of sheets is subsequently moved, whereupon it executes a first rotation and is guided under the blade once again in order to cut a second free strip; the second strip is cut; the stack is subsequently moved, whereupon it executes a second rotation and is guided under the blade once again in order to cut a third free strip; the third free strip and successive stacks of bond paper strips are cut, and; the successive stacks of bond paper strips are cut into individual bond papers.

  • Patent number: 6263790
Abstract: The machine further comprises a paper sheet feed device, a device for transporting the paper and a unit for applying security images (7) supported by at least one ribbon (8, 8a). The ribbon is brought into contact with the paper (1) so that the images (7) are applied at determined points on the paper. The application unit comprises an applicator cylinder (5) fitted with pads (52) in register with determined points on the sheets (1) and cooperates with a press cylinder (4), between which cylinders the paper (1) passes. The ribbon (8, 8a) is mounted between two reels (B1, B2) for paying out the ribbon and (25) for winding up the ribbon. The machine is equipped with a device (13) for preheating the ribbon (8, 8a) upstream of the applicator cylinder (5) so as to preheat the images (7) which will be applied to the sheet of paper (1) by simple contact of said pads (52) with the images (7) against the press cylinder (4).

  • Patent number: 6109172
Abstract: A machine including a printing cylinder (6) engaging two stencil cylinders (7, 18) for printing at least two non-overlapping areas in different colors using the one printing cylinder. One of the stencil cylinders (7) is conventional and enables silk-screen printing in a first area. The other cylinder (18) includes raised portions provided with a stencil for printing one or more further areas different from the first area while preventing the rest of the stencil cylinder (18) from contacting the printing cylinder and particularly the area(s) printed by the first cylinder (7).

  • Patent number: 5671671
Abstract: The rotary screen printing machine has a form cylinder (1) which carries a screen printing stencil (3), and an impression cylinder (2) having at least one cylinder pit (4), in which sheet grippers (5) are installed. In their closing position, the sheet grippers (5) do not project above the printing surface of the impression cylinder (2). Arranged inside the form cylinder (1) is an adjustable doctor (6) which can be controlled by an actuating mechanism (7, 8, 9) in such a way that, during a printing operation, the doctor (6) is pressed against the inside of the screen printing stencil (3), but is lifted off from this screen printing stencil when the open region of a cylinder pit (4) of the impression cylinder (2) passes the form cylinder (1).

  • Patent number: 5590507
Abstract: A sequence of H sheets of notes, for example 100 sheets, is first of all checked for misprints, and the note positions having misprints of each sheet are stored in a computer. The sheets of this sequence then pass a numbering machine (4), which has freely programmable numbering units, which are controlled by the computer. In this case, the numbering takes place in such a way that all the satisfactory note prints within the sequence of sheets, excluding the misprints, receive a consecutive sequence of numbers, the sequence of numbers of H notes in one and the same note position being the continuation of the sequence of numbers of the H notes in a neighboring note position. The next sequence of H sheets receives the subsequent sequence of numbers.

  • Patent number: 4867386
Abstract: Each of the thread guide wings comprises a pair of leg members. Teeth located at the leg members of each pair mesh with an associated gear secured to an associated concentrically arranged adjustment shaft. By accomplishing relative motion between the adjustment shafts, which carry the thread guide wings, and the associated gear it is possible to adjust the diameter or lengthwise extent of the thread guide wings by displacing the leg members. A corresponding reduction or enlargement of the diameter or lengthwise extent of the thread guide wings causes a displacement of the thread transfer points and thus the stroke along which the thread is shifted. Altering the thread stroke can be accomplished by a stepping motor or as a function of the diameter of the bobbin upon which the thread is wound.
