Patent number: 5179979Abstract: The gripper loom has picking tapes and rapier heads whose centers of gravity are disposed above the top of the tape. Between the tape wheels and the shed, tape guides are provided to impart to the picking tapes an inclined direction of movement towards the shed. Due to these inclined tape guides, disengagement of the rapier heads from the raceway in the shed can be obviated, with a consequent reduction in the frequency of warp yarn breakages.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1991Date of Patent: January 19, 1993Assignee: Sulzer Brothers LimitedInventor: Hans Zollinger

Patent number: 4901769Abstract: The tuck-in needle of a mechanical selvedge-forming device has a catcher for a yarn end following a needle tip. The catcher is subdivided into an entry zone and a trough screened from the entry zone by a hook disposed towards the trough. In its catching movement the needle is moved only towards the weft yarn so that the yarn moves into the entry zone of the catcher. The weft yarn then slides inclinedly over the outside of the hook until passing by way of the hook tip into the catcher interior. The weft yarn can be drawn into the cloth selvedge in this position. This construction enables the tucking-in to be very simple.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1989Date of Patent: February 20, 1990Assignee: Sulzer Brothers LimitedInventors: Hans Zollinger, Mario Tamaro

Patent number: 4865082Abstract: The pacing motion which is adapted to be stepped on in respect of individual wefts has a sliding wedge with a return spring. The wedge is displaceable on an output shaft into a groove of an input shaft in both directions of rotation. The motion also includes a locking lever actuatable off-load by a control signal. The lever locks and unlocks a release lever which is driven by a drive element and actuates the wedge. A transmission with a delay feature or a resilient damping insert can be used as an impact-reducing element to absorb some of the impact of the wedge in the groove. Freely actuatable electromagnets can be used both as actuating elements and as the drive element.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1988Date of Patent: September 12, 1989Assignee: Sulzer Brothers LimitedInventor: Hans Zollinger

Patent number: 4852618Abstract: The yarn selector comprises a number of yarn regulators each adapted to be selectively adjusted by way of a driving member between a standby position and a transfer position in dependence upon an actuator in which transfer position, a weft yarn is presented to a picking element for a subsequent pick. The driving members are selectively engageable with and disengageable from a driver oscillated at the cadence of the picking fequency. Each driving member is adapted to be locked, with the actuator in an active state by way of a ever-arm in an operative position corresponding to the transfer position of the yarn regulator, and to be disengaged from the lever arm with the actuator in a passive state. The particular yarn regulator concerned remains, if the same weft yarn is required for the next pick, in the transfer position after yarn transfer and is returned to the standby position only before a weft yarn change.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1988Date of Patent: August 1, 1989Assignee: Sulzer Brothers LimitedInventors: Hans Zollinger, Fredi Oderbolz

Patent number: 4274449Abstract: A device for maintaining an insertion band against an oscillating insertion band wheel by providing a flexible element which is movable in oscillating fashion in synchronism with the insertion band and rests from the outside against the insertion band under an initial stress.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1979Date of Patent: June 23, 1981Assignee: Ruti Machinery Works Ltd.Inventors: Erhard Freisler, Friedrich Lutz, Hans Zollinger

Patent number: 4226265Abstract: A withdrawing carrier for looms with removal of the filling thread from stationary bobbins, the carrier having a hook and a pivotal clamping tongue. An additional clamping element is provided for augmenting the clamping action exerted by the clamping tongue upon the filling thread.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1979Date of Patent: October 7, 1980Assignee: Ruti Machinery Works Ltd.Inventor: Hans Zollinger

Patent number: 4156944Abstract: A total ankle prosthesis is formed of two parts, the upper part of which has a concave lower surface in saggital section while the lower part has a convex upper surface in sagittal section slidingly guided on the upper part. Each of these surfaces is of wave form in frontal cross-section with one surface having a raised central portion while the other has a guide groove receiving the raised portion. The side walls of the upper part extend downwardly past the bottom surface of the lower part to protect and avoid excess rubbing of the bottom ends of the tibia and fibula on the bottom part of the prosthesis and to discourage scar tissue between the surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1977Date of Patent: June 5, 1979Assignee: Sulzer Brothers LimitedInventors: Adam Schreiber, Hans Zollinger, Michael Dexel

Patent number: 4133207Abstract: Novel device for detecting knot-like thick places in travelling textile threads, comprising a plate-shaped or rectangular vibratory member which is fixed at one end and has a straight edge at its other end. A plate-shaped piezoelectrical transducer element is fixed at one of the major surfaces of said vibratory member. A thread guiding member having a straight edge is arranged in essentially parallel relationship to the straight edge of the vibratory member such as to form a thread passage gap between said straight edges. Means adjust the width of said thread passage gap, and a case or support structure is provided for receiving the vibratory member, electromechanical transducer element and thread guiding member.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1977Date of Patent: January 9, 1979Assignee: Gebruder Loepfe AGInventors: Erich Weidmann, Hans Zollinger

Patent number: 4031926Abstract: The present invention covers a loom having means for introducing the filling threads by fluid with the means for introducing the filling threads having a comb of parallel channel forming blades to form a guide channel for the fluid, the channel forming blades arranged on the side of the reed facing the fell of the cloth.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1975Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: Ruti Machinery Works Ltd.Inventors: Hans Zollinger, Rolf Honegger

Patent number: 3996972Abstract: An arrangement for actuating laminas on a wave-type loom, in which the laminas are held individually by a coupling body which extends over the width of the loom, the driving of the laminas taking place by drive means arranged closely alongside each other over the width of the loom and act on the coupling body and are coupled with drive cams, the drive means being so dimensioned that the part acting on the coupling body is several times the thickness of a lamina.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1975Date of Patent: December 14, 1976Assignee: Ruti Machinery Works Ltd.Inventor: Hans Zollinger
