  • Publication number: 20100027114
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a shaped polymer device comprises forming a planar polymer layer over a substrate which has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than the polymer layer; and shaping the polymer layer using a laser ablation process. This method uses a substrate with low thermal expansion to limit the expansion of the attached polymer layer when it is being shaped by a laser ablation process. In addition there is provided a lens structure for an *autostereoscopic display device comprising a substantially planar glass substrate and a polymer layer defining a lenticular arrangement provided over the glass substrate.

  • Publication number: 20090009669
Abstract: An autostereoscopic display apparatus comprises a lenticular array (20) mounted to a display panel (10) which is mounted to a backlight unit (12). A lateral securing member is (30) disposed directly between the backlight unit (12) and the edge of the lenticular array (20) to prevent relative movement in a direction parallel to the plane of the panel (10). The stack comprising the panel (10) and lenticular plate (20) is prevented from sliding during regular use and from vibration during transportation.

  • Publication number: 20080316379
Abstract: An autostereoscopic display device comprises a display panel having an array of display pixels for producing a display. The display pixels are arranged in orthogonal rows and columns. The device also comprises an array of parallel lenticular elements positioned over the display panel. The lenticular elements have optical focal axes that are slanted at an angle to the display pixel columns. Display areas of the display pixels have edges that are substantially parallel to the lenticular element axes so that pixels of different views are prevented to be projected to the same niewing zone, thereby preventing crosstalk between views and reducing light intensity variations (due to varying amount of the opaque black mask which is imaged. The light intensity output also varies across each pixel display area in a direction perpendicular to the lenticular element axes.

  • Publication number: 20060139555
Abstract: Improved seal for flexible organic light emitting displays are provided. For the purpose of the present invention it is realisd that a homogenous seal cannot provide for the combination of resuired robusness and required impermeability, which are essential for the life time of the display. Therefore, a seal comprising an inner seal portion and an outer seal portion is proposed. The outer seal portion is flexible as compared to the inner seal portion and the inner seal portion is impermeable as compared to the outer seal portion and being deposited between the outer seal portion and the display element.
