  • Publication number: 20020193882
Abstract: The invention deals with trial balls for hip joint prostheses which have a cone connection between a prosthesis neck (24) with a cone (3) and fittable hip joint balls, with the hip joint balls and the trial balls (1) each having practically the same radii (21) and each having the same position of their conical counter surfaces (4) relative to the ball center (11). The trial balls have a separate insert (2) with a pre-determined spring effect for the contact to the cone (3), with the insert being able to be secured in the trial balls (1) at a different spacing (27) along the polar axis (13) to the ball center (11).

  • Patent number: 5720750
Abstract: The device contains a rasp (2) corresponding to the implant shaft, which comprises a shaft body (4), which can be driven into the osseous tissue, and a neck part (5) protruding therefrom, which can be equipped with a test ball corresponding to the ball-and-socket joint, and a grip part (7) which can be coupled to the rasp (2) for the insertion and withdrawal of the shaft body (4). The grip part (7) contains a guide bush (10), which can be slipped onto the neck part (5), and a slip-on part (14) having a stop face which can be placed on a front support face of the neck part (5). On the grip part (7) is articulated a coupling part (11), which comprises a claw (27) which through a recess in the guide sleeve (10) can engage in a recess of the neck part (5) and can be disengaged from it.

  • Patent number: 5665119
Abstract: A tubular member (1) made from wire, preferably titanium wire, which is manufactured on a round knitting machine, is inserted into the cavity (3c) of a pressing tool (2) having a pressing mold (3b) and die (3a). The tubular member (1) is plastically deformed by the die (3a) introduced into the cavity (3c), so that the member (1) assumes the shape predetermined by the pressing mold (3b), and thus is transformed to produce a member (4) which can be inserted as a filling member (4) into bone cavities, for example as a medullary space barrier.

  • Patent number: 5370695
Abstract: Shanks designed especially for small joints, for example, finger joints, and having a rectangular cross-section of core (1), exhibit towards their free end plastically deformable lobes (7) of pieces of sheetmetal which may be deformed, e.g., bent intraoperatively, for which they are subdivided at intervals in the axial direction into a number of sections (7a) through cuts (8) running perpendicular to the axis (9) of the shank.
