  • Patent number: 4780719
Abstract: The proposed surveillance system for surveilling a given scenario in azimuth and in elevation comprises an infrared surveillance detection device passively operating in the infrared region and a radar search and/or tracking device operating in the active mode for range determination. The targets or target information data are obtained as video signals from the infrared surveillance detection device during each search cycle and are processed in an infrared data processor. The video signals are discriminated and stored in an infrared signal processor with respect to their elevation angle values (.lambda.) and azimuth angle values (.alpha.). The values of the azimuth angle (.alpha.) are simultaneously fed to a radar activation and contol unit for triggering a momentary or short-time emission by the radar search and/or tracking device.

  • Patent number: 4004576
Abstract: A direct indicator device for determining the cardiac output according to the thermodilution method embodying two temperature sensors connected to the blood circulation for respectively determining the inlet- and dilution temperatures. A clock generator and a scaler connected at the output of the clock generator are provided, the scaler forming a control signal. A respective one of the sensors is connected in circuit with inputs of an associated temperature-pulse frequency converter, the outputs of which are connected with a respective input of a multiplexer. A control input of the multiplexer connected with the output of the scaler serves for the alternate switching-through of a signal from one input and from the other input of the multiplexer to the output thereof in time-dependent function of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 3997774
Abstract: A method of increasing the signal-to-noise ratio of a time-dependent scanning signal produced during a periodic scanning operation wherein a defined or bounded and centered field is scanned line-by-line by means of a scanning device, there is produced a time-dependent supplementary or additional signal corresponding to the spacing of the momentarily scanned location from the center of the field and possessing a momentary value r as well as a maximum value R. Successive line scans occur in directions which in each instance differ from one another by a predetermined angle in such a manner that as a function of the line width the neighboring lines successively adjoin one another at the field boundary and within the field partially overlap and at the field center completely overlap. From the scanning signal there is produced a multiplicity of primary signals forming a sequence, which in this sequence possess a stepwise time-delay which in each case increases by a period of the line scanning.
