  • Publication number: 20090147303
Abstract: The method for producing printed products in which said printed products are composed of printed sheets and for verification of the composition, composition information on at least one printed sheet characterizing said printed sheet with respect to predetermined printed sheet properties is evaluated, whereby during analysis, the composition information of at least one printed sheet is compared to the information of at least one more printed sheet to be assembled using said composition information for production of the same printed product.

  • Patent number: 7486087
Abstract: A device for measuring the thickness of print products in a conveying flow includes a plate capacitor having a first plate and a second plate located on opposite sides of the print products. The plate capacitor is adapted to measure capacitance of the print products passing between the first plate and the second plate. A LC oscillator circuit is attached to the plate capacitor.

  • Patent number: 5659468
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring and ascertaining respective changes in an operating condition of an electrically operated engine that occur due to stress. Operating parameters are measured to acquire the influences of different types of stresses which promote the wear of the engine. The operating parameters are transferred to an electronic, non-volatile memory module. The operating parameters are converted to respective wear contributions indicative of a degree of wear of the engine. The wear contributions are evaluated to determine the actual wear of the engine at any point in time.

  • Patent number: 5574350
Abstract: A motor-operated adjusting device is provided for adjusting machine axles. The device includes an addressable unit, an operating unit for executing control functions for adjusting a position of an axle to be adjusted, a bus coupling the operating unit to the addressable unit, and an adjusting unit. The adjusting unit includes a path indicator for indicating the position of the axle to be adjusted, a gear connected to the axle and a motor connected via the gear to the axle for adjusting the position of the axle, the motor and the output of the path indicator being connected via the addressable unit and the bus to the operating unit so that the operating unit can instruct the motor via the addressable unit to adjust the position of the axle in dependence of the position of the axle as indicated by the path indicator.

  • Patent number: 5351834
Abstract: A printed sheet constituting a reference is scanned to form an image of a predetermined part of the sheet, and this reference image is stored in a microprocessor. Additional printed sheets which are to undergo further processing are subsequently similarly scanned to form images of predetermined parts thereof which, as regards position, correspond at least approximately to the predetermined part of the reference sheet. The predetermined part of the reference sheet may be larger than the predetermined parts of the additional sheets or vice versa so that the reference image is larger than the other images or vice versa. The microprocessor compares the image of each additional sheet with that of the reference sheet. In comparing two images, the microprocessor searches the larger image to determine the relative position in which the images would be most closely matched if superimposed on one another.

  • Patent number: 5005192
Abstract: The sheets of a stream of partially overlapping sheets are counted during transport past a generator of ultrasonic waves which is operated by a control unit at a frequency such that each sheet reflects a series of successive waves. The resulting echoes are directed toward two discrete signal generators which transmit signals to an evaluating circuit by way of the control unit. The signals denote the length of intervals of propagation of waves from the source to the respective signal generators, and the circuit processes such signals to furnish information denoting the number of sheets which are conveyed past the locus of impingement of waves upon the sheets.
