  • Patent number: 6634227
Abstract: The invention relates to a level detecting system for a powder container of a powder-coating apparatus. It contains an inductive proximity sensor (22) and an electrically insulating membrane (28) which is displaceable to-and-fro the proximity sensor and which is fitted on its inside surface opposite the proximity sensor with a metallic element (32) affixed to it and affecting the magnetic properties of the proximity sensor. The level detecting system operates regardless of any powder particles adhering to it.

    Assignee: ITW Gema AG
Inventors: Guido Rutz, Hans Peter Michael
  • Patent number: 6598803
Abstract: A spray powder-coating apparatus fitted with an electronic control system (21) regulating the air flows (20, 43) to an injector (4) as a function of setpoints (m) for the rates of powder to be moved, and as a function of a setpoint (GV) for the total rate of air passing through the nozzle, by means of motor-driven adjustable throttles (18, 19, 44, 45), preferably also as a function of the actual values (89, 90) of the regulated air flows (20, 43).

  • Patent number: 6443670
Abstract: Powder-coating equipment comprises two throttles (6, 16) each mounted in one of a conveyance-air line (8) and a supplemental-air line (18). The throttles' flow impedance’ are adjustable in a motorized manner by providing throttle with its own adjustment motor (4, 14). The adjustment motors, such as electric stepping motors and/or servo-motors are driven by an electronic control unit (2).
