Patent number: 8448817Abstract: In the method of optimizing the dosage-dispensing process of a dosage-dispensing device, an examination takes place prior to a first dosage delivery, whether at least one flow parameter relating to the dosage-dispensing process is stored in the memory module of the dosage-dispensing unit. If a stored flow parameter is found to be present, said flow parameter is called up from the memory module. If no store flow parameter is present, a flow parameter is requested by the user by entering a request, a flow parameter is called up from a central database, or at least one flow parameter is determined by means of the first run of the dosage-dispensing process based on a default setting of the dosage-dispensing program. With the at least one flow parameter, the dosage-dispensing program is directly adapted, at least one run of the dosage-dispensing process is performed with the adapted dosage-dispensing program, and/or the at least one flow parameter is stored in the memory module.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2008Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Mettler-Toledo AGInventors: Marc Bloechlinger, Paul Luechinger, Hansruedi Kuenzi, Siegfried Gluvakov, Bruno Nufer, Jean-Christophe Emery

Patent number: 7633018Abstract: A method is disclosed to operate and control a balance which has a control unit that is operable to execute an operating- and/or applications program and is equipped for this task with a processor and a memory unit. The balance also has at least one entry device to give command signals to the control unit. The control unit uses the command signals given by the entry device to control one of at least two function modules that are assigned to the entry device by the control unit dependent on the operating status of the operating and/or applications program. The entry device can therefore control a plurality of function modules, hardware and/or software modules, e.g., for the opening and closing of the doors of the weighing compartment, the zeroing of the balance, the setting of tare, or the printing of the measurement results. The assignment of the function modules to the entry device is signaled to the user by an indicating device.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2004Date of Patent: December 15, 2009Assignee: Mettler-Toledo AGInventors: Roger Leisinger, Hansruedi Künzi

Patent number: 7569780Abstract: A force-measuring device (100) with at least one housing (20) has an interior space and at least one force-measuring cell (110) installed therein. At least one parameter characterizing an existing high-frequency electromagnetic field is determined by a sensor (50) arranged in the interior space or a sensor arranged outside of the housing, the sensor being adapted for detecting high-frequency electromagnetic fields. After an electromagnetic field is detected and compared to a threshold value, a response action of the force-measuring device is triggered if the detected parameter value exceeds the threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2007Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Mettler-Toledo AGInventors: Hans-Peter Von Arb, Jean-Christophe Emery, Daniel Reber, Cyrill Bucher, Stefan Buehler, Hansruedi Kuenzi

Patent number: 7325321Abstract: The method and the device serve to monitor the alignment of a measuring instrument, specifically a balance. To perform this function, the monitoring device is equipped with an inclination sensor based on the principle of a spirit level, with a container filled with a fluid in which a bubble is formed. According to the invention, the position of the bubble is measured optically by means of a radiating element that is arranged on one side of the bubble and serves to emit a radiation, and a sensor element that is arranged on the opposite side of the bubble and serves to receive the radiation. The radiating element, preferably a light-emitting diode, and the sensor element, preferably a photodiode, together define the sensor axis (sx) on which the bubble is centered as long as the sensor axis runs parallel to the axis of the gravity force. Furthermore, the sensor element is flanked by at least two reference elements that are likewise receiving the radiation.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2004Date of Patent: February 5, 2008Assignee: Mettler-Toledo AGInventors: Hansruedi Künzi, Roger Leisinger

Publication number: 20060157287Abstract: A balance with a balance housing serving to accommodate a weighing mechanism and weighing-related electronics is equipped with a weighing pan and with a draft protection element which can be loosely positioned on the balance housing and which surrounds the weighing pan. The balance housing is equipped with a step which serves to receive the draft protection element and whose seating surface for the draft protection element is arranged below the topside of the balance housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2006Publication date: July 20, 2006Applicant: METTLER-TOLEDO GMBHInventors: Roger Leisinger, Bruno Mattle, Hansjuerg Rotach, Patrik Morf, Hansruedi Kuenzi, Yves Marmier
