  • Patent number: 5538128
Abstract: For the detachable fastening of the grate bars (4) of a grate for refuse incineration plants, the edge bars of the fixed bar rows (3), which are composed of grate bars arranged side by side and coupled in pairs in each case by a bolt (12) fastened on one grate bar (4) and at the neighboring grate bar projecting through a longitudinal slot (14), are in the form of fastened grate bars (4') and are fastened relative to the side wall by a swivelling prevention fastening, which with a bolt (12') corresponds to the coupling between neighboring grate bars and at the same time can be in the form of a longitudinal fastening and has clamping means which are releasable from the region situated outside a side cheek (2) and which subject the bolt (12') to a pull directed towards the side wall, or else by a correspondingly releasable swivelling prevention and longitudinal fastening.

  • Patent number: 4976206
Abstract: A mechanism for the removal of incombustible residues from an incineration plant includes a slag shaft, a slag tank positioned under a mouth of the slag shaft and filled with water extending up to the mouth of the shaft. The incombustible residues dropping from the incineration plant furnace grate through the slag shaft collect in the slag tank and are discharged therefrom by a pusher plate via an upwardly sloping discharge path. The pusher plate is in operative connection with two thrust piston drives via two thrust rods and two rocking levers. The joint connecting the thrust rod with the rocking lever is arranged in such a way that it is not immersed in the water bath either in the rear position of the pusher plate or in the discharge position of the pusher plate. Through the direct coupling to the joint, the thrust rod and the rocking lever can operate in the same vertical plane, so that no additional moments are exerted on the rocking shaft.

  • Patent number: 4450952
Abstract: A fire grate for a combustion furnace having a pair of parallel spaced apart frame walls and a plurality of alternately arranged stationary and movable grate bars extending between and secured to the frame walls. The grate bars are formed of a plurality of grate members wherein at least two neighboring grate members are connected together by means of a removably secured clamping element.

  • Patent number: 4320710
Abstract: A grate assembly for a furnace for incinerating material comprises rows of moving grate bars which are arranged between rows of stationary grate bars and which are individually driven by drives arranged exteriorly of a combustion zone located beneath the rows of grate bars. Interposed between the grate bars and the drive are a lever system including a swivel lever fastened to a torsion shaft and a slide guide attachment for effecting approximately rectilinear movement of the moving grate bars. The torsion shaft is supported on sidewalls of the combustion zone and is rotatable and slideable by means of a bearing support which pivots about a shaft. Due to the approximately rectilinear movement and the optional, individual adjustment of the movement of adjacent moving rows of grate bars, the incineration behaviour of the material may be taken into consideration to a large extent and the drives may be easily maintained since they are readily accessible.
