The wash basket defines a wash chamber configured for receiving laundry articles via the aperture in the top panel. A door is mounted to the cabinet at the top of the top panel. A pretreatment area is defined in the top panel between the door and the aperture. An elongated nozzle is positioned in the top panel proximate to and below the door. The elongated nozzle is configured to provide a sheet flow of wash fluid over the pretreatment area.
