  • Patent number: 11260360
Abstract: An improved process of making a benefit agent delivery particle and an improved microcapsule made by such process are disclosed. The process comprises the steps of providing a first composition of water phase 1, water phase 2, water phase 3 and an oil phase, where a water phase multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomer is selected to have a hydrophilicity index of least 25, or even at least 30 and the oil phase multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomer has a hydrophilicity index of 25 or less, or even 20 or less. The water phases comprise water, initiator, a water-soluble or dispersible amine(meth)acrylate or hydroxyl(meth)acrylate, a multifunctional (meth)acrylate and one water phase comprises water, carboxyalkyl(meth)acrylate and a base or quaternary ammonium acrylate. Water phases are combined to prereact the hydroxy- or amine(meth)acrylate and the multifunctional (meth)acrylate to form a multifunctional hydroxyl-amine(meth)acrylate pre-polymer.

  • Patent number: 10634205
Abstract: The present invention discloses an ultra-low frequency (ULF) tuned liquid mass damper, and relates to the technical field of bridge vibration control. The tuned damper includes a damping box which is provided with a spring set secured at one end to the damping box, the other end connected with a mass block. The damping box is filled with damping liquid, and the mass block is completely immersed or partially immersed in the damping liquid. The damping ratio of the ULF tuned liquid mass damper ranges from 3% to 35%, and the inherent frequency 0.05 to 0.5 Hz. The ULF tuned liquid mass damper, according to the present invention, can fully utilize the additional mass of the damping liquid, and with the buoyancy effect of the liquid, maintain the frequency of structural vibration below 0.

  • Publication number: 20190322879
Abstract: The invention describes a method of forming a stable aqueous polyurethane microgel dispersion comprising preparing an oil phase comprising a gel-forming polyol and an isocyanate in approximately stoichiometric proportion by blending the polyol and isocyanate for a time, less than the gel time of the polyol and isocyanate, thereby forming a homogeneous flowable liquid mixture; providing a water phase comprising a surfactant dispersed in water; combining the water phase with the oil phase flowable liquid mixture and subjecting the combined water and oil phases to high shear agitation to form an aqueous emulsion of micro-size droplets of the oil phase flowable mixture in water; and agitating the emulsion for a time sufficient for the micro-size droplets to polymerize, forming a stable aqueous suspension of solid polyurethane micro-size gel particles.
