    Abstract: A hybrid video decoding apparatus has a hardware entropy decoder and a storage device. The hardware entropy decoder performs hardware entropy decoding to generate an entropy decoding result of a picture. The storage device has a plurality of storage areas allocated to buffer a plurality of entropy-decoded partial data, respectively, and is further arranged to store position information indicative of storage positions of the entropy-decoded partial data in the storage device. The entropy-decoded partial data are derived from the entropy decoding result of the picture, and are associated with a plurality of portions of the picture, respectively.

The image-signal-obtaining unit obtains nine image signals from three lines of image signals. The first-signal-group processing unit processes the nine image signals. The brightness-adjusting unit adjusts the brightness of the low-frequency image signal. The threshold unit processes the noise of the high-frequency image signal.     Abstract: An image enhancing system uses a multi-resolution filter to analyze the image and process noise from the image and the details of the high frequency image. The image enhancing system uses a wavelet transform structure to decompose and process the image. The image enhancing system does not need to down sample and it directly changes the frequency of the processing unit. The low-frequency image is processed by a brightness adjusting process, such as a Gamma (?) transfer function, to enhance the details of the image. The high-frequency image is processed by a threshold unit to eliminate noise and reserve the original details of the image. Next, the image enhancing system uses an amplifying unit to amplify the image and reconstructs the image with full resolution.
