  • Patent number: 11376868
    Abstract: A device (100) includes a sensor (101) to determine a capacitance between a first metal piece (209, 309, 409, 509, 609, 709, 809, 909) coupled to a paper tray (213, 413, 513, 913) of a printing device (206, 306) and a second metal piece (207, 307, 407, 507, 607, 707, 807, 907) coupled to a paper width adjuster (212) of the printing device (206, 306). The device (100) also includes a controlled (102) coupled to the sensor (101) comprising a processor (103) in communication with a memory resource (104) including executable instructions to determine a size of paper in the paper tray (213, 413, 513, 913) based on the determined capacitance.

  • Publication number: 20210276818
Abstract: A pick-up roller (100) comprises a circular body (116) to transition print media towards a print path, the circular body (116) includes a first flat surface (118), a first rim (114) connected to a first distal end (126) of the circular body (116), and a second rim (122) connected to a second distal end (128) of the circular body (116); and a cylindrical connector (124) coupled to the second rim (122), wherein a flat portion of the cylindrical connector (124) is coupled to the second rim (122).

  • Publication number: 20210245977
Abstract: A print device comprises a media pickup assembly to feed print media, from a print media stack of an input tray, into a media loading path for printing. The media pickup assembly (106) includes a pickup roller (110) mounted on a rotatable shaft (108) and may include an outer surface (112) to be in contact with the print medium and a slot (114) comprising lateral walls (404) extending from the outer surface towards a central longitudinal axis of the pickup roller. Each lateral wall has an edge meeting the outer surface (112). The edge (408) creates a surface contact between the print media and the pickup roller, to allow the pickup roller (110) to push the print media into the media loading path. A distance between the edge (408) of one lateral wall (404-1) and the edge of another lateral wall (404-2) is in a range of about 2 mm to 3 mm. The distance defines a width of the slot (114).
