Abstract: A modular in vitro device can be configured as a subcutaneous absorption model. The in vitro device can include a center chamber and a matrix material configured to be included in the center chamber during measurement of absorption of a test agent. A first side chamber is configured to couple with the center chamber, with least one first side opening configured to fluidly couple with the center chamber. A first membrane is configured to be positioned between the center chamber and first side. A second side chamber similar to the first side chamber is provided, with a second membrane configured to be positioned between the center chamber and second side chamber. The center chamber, first side chamber, and second side chamber are configured to be modular for combining with the first membrane and second membrane in a lateral arrangement.

Abstract: Provided herein are tablet formulations comprising a core comprising omecamtiv mecarbil, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable hydrate of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a filler; a binder; a glidant; and a lubricant; and a film coating on the core, the film coating comprising a modified-release polymer and a pore former. Also provided is a process for making a tablet formulation and a method of treating cardiovascular conditions, such as heart failure, using the tablet formulation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the presently-disclosed subject matter include compositions that include iodine or salts thereof as well as methods administering the same to subjects in need thereof. In some embodiments the compositions comprise an aqueous solution, a surfactant, a cosurfactant, an oil, and iodine or salts thereof. The composition can be an emulsion. Methods for administration include topical administration, and in some embodiments the compositions can be administered transdermally by applying the composition directly to the skin of a subject. In some embodiments the compositions are topically administered with a spray applicator that dispenses a predetermined amount of the composition upon being actuated.
