Abstract: An apparatus for generating electric power from wind energy includes an upright structural frame having a base frame portion, an upright rod extending vertically along a pivot axis that passes through a center of the structural frame, and having a lower end disposed in the base frame portion of the structural frame. A blade unit is mounted fixedly on the upright rod such that an assembly of the upright rod and the blade unit is rotatable relative to the structural frame about the pivot axis so as to convert wind energy into a mechanical rotary power output. A generator is mounted on the base frame portion of the structural frame and is coupled to the lower end of the blade unit to convert the mechanical rotary power output into electric power.

Abstract: A supporting device includes two telescopic leg units each including a vertical upper leg rod sleeved movably on a vertical lower leg rod, a mounting plate connected pivotally to a lower end of the lower leg rod, and a first positioning member operable to anchor the upper leg rod to the lower leg rod. A hollow connecting seat is mounted on upper ends of the upper leg rods of the leg units such that each leg unit is movable relative to the connecting seat in a direction perpendicular to the leg units. Two second positioning members extend respectively through the upper ends of the upper leg rods of the leg units, are slidable along a horizontal slot in the connecting seat, and are operable to anchor the leg units to the connecting seat.

Abstract: A protective cover includes a looped surrounding wall disposed on a base of an electric generating device and around an upright blade unit of the electric generating device, and a top wall having a periphery connected to a top end of the surrounding wall and cooperating with the surrounding wall so as to define an accommodating space for receiving the blade unit therein. The surrounding wall is formed with a plurality of vertical rows of rectangular vent holes therethrough, and has an outer surrounding surface formed with a plurality of flaps each extending outwardly and downwardly from a corresponding part of the surrounding wall defining an upper end of a respective vent hole.
