The insulative housing defines an opening for receiving the IC package and two walls extending upwardly thereof, and each wall disposes a first cutout. The stiffener surrounding the insulative housing defines two side walls adjacent and parallel to the walls of the insulative housing. Each side wall disposes a second cutout corresponding to the first cutout so as to so as to remove the IC package easily.

The terminals are arranged in the terminal-location portion along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The metal frame is attached to the housing and includes a base portion located above the terminal-location portion to define a receiving slot between the terminal-location portion and the base portion for receiving a mating end of the card, the base portion is not beyond the terminal-location portion in the first direction and the receiving. The metal frame further includes a pair of locking portions adapted for pressing against a top face of the card to lock the card in the insulating housing and moving outwards in the second direction to release the card.

The electrical connector comprises a base defining a plurality of passageways, a plurality of contacts received in the passageways, and a cover moveable relative to the base from a first position to a second position. The contacts each have a resilient arm extending out of the passageway and extending in a space defined by a lower surface of the cover and a mating surface of the base. The IC package is mounted on an upper surface of the cover, defining a plurality of pins through a plurality of through holes of the cover. During movement of the cover from the first position to the second position, the pins press on a surface of the resilient arm of the contact in a vertical direction and the resilient arms deflect toward an adjacent passageway.
