  • Publication number: 20030200235
Abstract: An item versioning implementation in a content management system provides versioning capability that can either be controlled by the client application or be transparent thereto. Versioning is controlled by the user. The user also defines the manner in which old versions are maintained. The number of previous versions of the document may be limited by the user. The present system provides enhanced server capability for managing version control by document type, reduces client application complexity, reduces the number of required data parameters transmitted across network communications, allows flexibility in control of document versioning, and maintains compatibility with content management systems that do not have versioning control. Control of document versions depends on the root and child component attributes that are defined by the hierarchical structure of the document.

  • Publication number: 20030200220
Abstract: A database management system, method, and program product for managing a relational database of items. Each of the items has a plurality of attributes, and the relational database is adapted to operate on the items as a function of the attributes of an item. According to our invention the attributes are arrayed in a hierarchal array of attributes and levels of attribute groups, such that an attribute group contains one or more attributes. According to our invention an attribute is contained in only one first level attribute group, and an intermediate attribute group is contained in only one attribute group at a next higher level. In a preferred embodiment of our invention the items are content items.

  • Publication number: 20030200443
Abstract: A system and method for authorizing access to a controlled entity by a user. A set of user privileges is provided for user; and a content manager intersects an access control list (ACL) and the set of user privileges to authorize access. Binding level control indicia selectively binds an access control list (ACL) to the controlled entity at item type, item, mixed, or library binding level. An item type comprises one or more component items with each component item having one or more item views which together form an item type view. A content manager is responsive to the binding level to perform ACL checking for authorizing access to the controlled entity by the user.

  • Patent number: 6619537
Abstract: A sputter target assembly including a high purity copper sputter target diffusion bonded to a backing plate, preferably composed of either aluminum, aluminum alloy, aluminum matrix composite materials, copper, or copper alloy, and a Ni-alloy interlayer, preferably composed of Ni—V, Ni—Ti, Ni—Cr, or Ni—Si, located between and joining the target and backing plate, and a method for making the assembly. The method of making involves depositing (e.g., electroplating, sputtering, plasma spraying) the interlayer on a mating surface of either the sputter target or backing plate and pressing, such as hot isostatically pressing, the sputter target and backing plate together along mating surfaces so as to form a diffusion bonded sputter target assembly.

  • Publication number: 20030096375
Abstract: Lipo-chito oligosaccharides (LCOs) are produced by culturing rhizobacteria cells in or on a culture medium comprising at least one of: jasmonic acid or a derivative thereof; linoleic acid or a derivative thereof; or linolenic acid or a derivative thereof. Preferably, the rhizobacteria cells are Bradyrhizobium japonicum cells having the identifying characteristics of B. japonicum strain USDA 3. Preferably, the derivative of jasmonic acid is an ester thereof, preferably methyl jasmonate. Also provided are methods for improving LCO production at low temperatures, particularly temperatures below 25° C.

  • Patent number: 6521108
Abstract: Low temperature diffusion bonding methods and target/backing plate assemblies bonded by the methods are disclosed. In accordance with the methods, copper and/or cobalt targets are bonded to backing plate members via the use of an interlayer selected from the group consisting of group Ib or group VIII metals. The interlayer is interposed between intended bonding surfaces of the target and the backing plate, and the assembly is diffusion bonded at low temperatures of about 190° C.-400° C. The method results in increased tensile strength of the bonded assembly while not, in the case of copper targets, resulting in undesirable grain growth. When cobalt targets are bonded in accordance with the invention, desirable magnetic properties, such as magnetic pass through flux, are maintained while a strong bond is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6453648
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a heating device which is capable of generating heat when exposed to oxygen. The heat generating element comprises activated carbon and iron is used to generate an exothermic oxidation reaction within the heating device. Introducing an oxidation inhibitor during the manufacturing process allows the manufacturing of the device to take place in ambient atmospheric conditions. The present invention also includes a loading facilitator which allows the heat generating medium to be more easily and efficiently loaded into the heat generating device. When appropriate, the oxidation inhibitor and loading facilitator can be removed.
