    Abstract: A multi-layered regenerator for adjusting temperature of gas or fluid flowing therethrough is provided. The regenerator includes a cover portion and a base portion, each of the cover portion and the base portion comprising a plurality of apertures permitting gas or fluid to flow from a top to a bottom of the multi-layered regenerator, and from the bottom to the top of the multi-layered regenerator. At least one of the cover portion and the base portion include thermal layers stacked vertically with respect to one another, each of the plurality of thermal layers having a predetermined porosity. At least a first one of the plurality of thermal layers is formed of a thermally conductive material and a second one of the plurality of thermal layers is formed of a thermally insulative material.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for realizing a quantum operation. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, an ion qubit containing a first set of long-lived energy levels and a second set of long-lived energy levels is selected, wherein each of the first set of long-lived energy levels and the second set of long-lived energy levels contains two or more than two sub-energy levels for qubit encoding; a second continuous-wave laser beam containing two frequency components, which is used for coherent transfer between different sets of long-lived energy levels and construction of a single-qubit gate and a two-qubit gate, is obtained by performing frequency adjustment on a first continuous-wave laser beam; parameter adjustment is performed on the second continuous-wave laser beam according to a quantum operation to be performed to obtain a corresponding laser beam for performing the quantum operation according to quantum operation to be performed.

    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an addressing manipulation system and an addressing manipulation method. The addressing manipulation system includes a control unit, a radio frequency driving unit and two addressing units. The control unit controls a frequency and polarization of an incident laser beam in real time, so that the incident laser beams meet the Raman transition condition. The radio frequency driving unit controls the number and frequencies of radio frequency driving fields applied to each addressing unit, and achieves the control of the number and angles of the emergent laser beams and a frequency difference of the emergent laser beam pair. The addressing unit receives and modulates the incident laser beam and outputs a preset number of the emergent laser beams for addressing manipulation, wherein the emergent laser beam is one laser beam of the emergent laser beam pair for addressing manipulation.

The two types of qubits, carried by spectrally different sets of long-lived energy levels of the ions, are convertible to each other.
