    Abstract: Use of chitosan or a chitosan derivative in a dry powder composition enhances the release of the dry powder composition containing a medicament from a container and/or the dispersibility in air of the dry powder composition containing a medicament. When the dry powder composition is administered to a person in need thereof by means of a dry powder inhaler, the presence of the chitosan or chitosan derivative enhances the dispersibility of the dry powder composition such that the dose emitted from the container is enhanced and/or the respirable fraction available for deposit in the lungs of a person is increased.
