    Abstract: The present invention declaims the use of Pasteurella lipoprotein E (PlpE) as a subunit vaccine and the use of vaccines containing PlpE to protect animals from diseases caused by P. multocida. The results of vaccination and challenge experiments showed that mice and chickens immunized with PlpE were completely protected animals from challenge infection with 101-103 LD50 of P. multocida and no adverse effect was observed.
