  • Publication number: 20140360729
Abstract: A subsea electrical device has a penetrator extending through a housing for the connection of a motor lead cable supplying electric power or electric signals. The penetrator has a glass or glass-ceramic body sealed to the housing. A connector, such as a pin connector, extends through the glass or glass-ceramic body. The motor lead cable connects to one end of the connector while the other end of the connector allows for the transfer of the electric power or electric signals to the components within the housing. The glass or glass-ceramic body withstands the high pressure and harsh environment of the subsea atmosphere, allowing for the long term us of the electrical device without need for replacement due to failure of the penetrator.

  • Publication number: 20090173165
Abstract: A sensor of the inductive type comprising at least one support, wherein the support is provided with at least one coil, and wherein the coil is adapted to be fed with a high-frequency signal. The coil or each coil part thereof has its respective windings arranged in one plane and the support is formed of a disc-shaped substrate having a deformation temperature which is at least 1000° C. The windings are provided on the substrate by vapour deposition or etching. The sensor is adapted for operation selected in the frequency range of 1 MHz-1 GHz. Through the substrate and in the centre of said at least one coil there may be arranged a core of ferromagnetic material. The sensor is expediently embeddable with the aid of glass ceramic material or glass material in an aperture in a holder of metal or metal alloy.

  • Patent number: 6640641
Abstract: A device for capacitive measurement of a medium which at high pressure and optionally also at high temperature is bounded by a wall of a pressure housing or pressure resistance flow guide. The wall includes a cut out or through hole or a through going slot. In the hole or slot there is located a sensor and the sensor is electrically insulated from the material of the wall by the medium. The sensor is secured to the wall by means of a glass-ceramic material which extends from the pressure side of the wall and wholly or partly through the hole or slot. The sensor, at the outer side of the wall is connected to a capacitance-signal processing unit.
