  • Publication number: 20160356200
Abstract: An exhaust gas post-treatment system for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine, and to a corresponding method. The system includes a particle filter, a device having catalytic oxidation function, and at least one mixing chamber which are combined to form a constructive unit.

  • Publication number: 20120159931
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust system for a combustion engine, particularly of a vehicle, with an oxidation catalytic converter (oxicat), with an electrically heatable catalytic converter (E-cat) arranged upstream of the oxicat and with a fuel injector arranged upstream of the E-cat. An energetically favourable mode of operation is achieved when a particle filter is arranged downstream of the oxicat, when a bypass path bypassing the E-cat commences downstream of the fuel injector and ends upstream of the oxicat and when the E-cat is designed for a smaller exhaust gas flow rate than the oxicat.

  • Patent number: 5632304
Abstract: An exhaust butterfly in an exhaust conduit of an internal combustion engine is supported by way of bearing journals by positive plug-in connections. To simplify installation, the bearing journals and the bearing sleeves are designed in such a way that, to install the exhaust butterfly, the bearing journals are each pressed completely into the respective bearing sleeves counter to the force of a spring. In the case of a multiflow exhaust line, between adjacent exhaust lines cylindrical transverse passages are provided in each of which a driver is rotatably mounted. At one end, the driver has a recess which is designed as a bearing sleeve and into which the bearing journal of the first exhaust butterfly is inserted to produce a driving connection. The other end of the driver is designed as a bearing journal which is likewise inserted into a recess in the second exhaust butterfly to produce a driving connection.

  • Patent number: 4913712
Abstract: In a filter consisting of hollow cylindrical open-pore ceramic foam and an end plate made of gas-impermeable material, as an insert in a filter cup for cleaning exhaust gases of diesel engines, in which the exhaust gases flow through the active filter section essentially perpendicularly to the cylinder axis, a larger ceramic foam portion such as is used e.g. as an exhaust filter for a diesel engine for a truck or passenger service bus can be made from one piece only with increased requirements, because the necessary dimensional accuracy necessitates increased requirements, and hence the economy of using the ceramic foam is greatly impaired. Also, the back pressure increases considerably.
