  • Patent number: 4267491
Abstract: An electrical regulating device, particularly for a speed control device for motor vehicles, with a servomotor, a rotatably mounted setting element which actuates the position or adjustment actuator, the setting element being in operative connection with the servomotor via an electro-magnetic coupling, and a monitoring stage for the mechanical functioning of the coupling. The monitoring stage contains a unit for recognizing the restoring speed of the setting element or the adjustment actuator, a unit for comparison of the actual resetting speed with a pregiven reference value and a unit for production of a signal upon an unsafe deviation of the actual resetting speed from the reference value.

  • Patent number: 4254844
Abstract: Device for controlling of the traveling speed of a motor vehicle with an electrical controller, which controller, by an electrical adjusting device in dependency on a desired value which is fed-in or stored by the driver via one or more manually actuatable first actuating elements, acts on an element which influences the ratio of the fuel-air mixture fed to the motor vehicle, particularly the throttle valve, and its adjusting device is switchable inoperatively off by second actuating elements. Elements are provided by which the controller can be turned off if at least one first actuating element and at least one second actuating element are in their active position or condition.

  • Patent number: 4250845
Abstract: A device for the control of the position of an element of an internal combustion engine which influences the fuel-air mixture, particularly for the rotational speed control, which element is coupled with a servomotor, the latter being fed by the output of a differential amplifier, whereby an actual value input of the differential amplifier is in connection with an actual value transmitter and a desired value input of the differential amplifier is connected with a desired value transmitter. A diode is arranged from the desired value input to the actual value input connected in the forward conducting direction, and a resistor is connected between the junction point of the desired value input with the diode and the desired value transmitter.

  • Patent number: 4248321
Abstract: A motor vehicle speed regulating device having a desired speed setting device, an actual speed detecting device, and an acceleration controlling device which operates to regulate the rate of acceleration upon changes made in the adjustment of the set speed device, wherein a delay device is connected in a feedback between a speed correcting device and the acceleration control device.

  • Patent number: 4170274
Abstract: A device for regulating the traveling speed of a motor vehicle, compares a signal proportional to the actual speed of the vehicle with a signal proportional to the set or desired speed, and superposes on one or both of the signals a periodic signal having at least one periodically recurring section of non-linear characteristic, to obtain a control signal whose amplitude is modulated as a function of the magnitude of deviation between the actual speed signal and the set speed signal, and the control signal is transmitted to a control stage influencing the fuel-air mixture supplied to the engine of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4161994
Abstract: A speed regulating device for motor vehicles, wherein a setting element is arranged to affect the fuel/air mixture supplied to the engine of the vehicle in response to a control signal, and including an electrical regulator and a variable resistor associated with the setting element and the electrical regulator for signalling to the electrical regulator the actual position of the setting element, the feedback means including a lost motion connection whereby a predetermined movement of the setting element is required before an indication of change or reversal of movement of the setting element is communicated to the electrical regulator, thereby eliminating hunting of the speed regulating device caused by looseness or play in mechanical linkage between the setting drive and throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 4157126
Abstract: A system for regulating the traveling speed of a motor vehicle includes a comparator producing an output signal corresponding to the difference between a sensed speed signal and a reference speed signal, a control device responsive to the output signal from the comparator for controlling the proportion of fuel-air mixture supplied to an engine in the motor vehicle, and a selective delay circuit coupled between the comparator and the control device for delaying the supply of the output signal from the comparator to the control device when the amplitude of the output signal is above a predetermined level and for supplying output signals having an amplitude below the predetermined level directly to the control device such that the system will respond quickly to variations in sensed speed occurring from normal load conditions while providing a smooth transition when the desired speed is changed.
