  • Patent number: 11484114
Abstract: To improve the brush-making field, a tuft-picking device (4) is provided, which includes the tuft picker (8) that is movable in relation to the material box (2) of the brush-making machine (1) and, on its front side (11), which in the operating position faces the bristle supply (3) held in the material box (2), includes at least one tuft-picking notch (12). The tuft-picking notch (12) has two opposing knife edges (14, 15), which delimit the notch opening (13) of the tuft-picking notch (12) and are oriented transverse to the direction of movement of the tuft picker (8). Another part of the tuft-picking device (4) is the counter piece (9), which is provided with the separating edge (17) facing the tuft picker (8). In order to allow bristle filaments (16) to be removed from the bristle supply (4) as gently as possible, at least one of the two knife edges (14, 15) and/or the separating edge (17) is rounded.

  • Patent number: 4640139
Abstract: A strain gauge device for measuring multicomponent forces and torques comprises a cylindrical body clamped at one end and attached at a free end to a force-transmission cup partially surrounding the cylinder. At least seven wire strain gauges are attached to the external surface of the cylinder in three parallel planes extending transversely to the axis of the cylinder. The gauges include longitudinally extending gauges, circumferentially extending gauges and gauges oriented at a 45.degree. angle with respect to the transversely extending planes. The gauges are electrically coupled parallel to one another in respective circuits. A microprocessor may be connected to the circuits for detecting the voltage drops across the strain gauges and calculating therefrom the orthogonal components of an unbalanced force and a torque applied to the measuring body.

  • Patent number: 4637263
Abstract: A multi-component force and torque measurement cell which has strain gauges connected in each branch to a constant current source forming half-bridge circuits. These are arranged on a measurement spring with defined force introduction for longitudinal and transverse forces as well as torques in the strain direction of the measurement spring. The strain gauges are subdivided into two series circuits each having half the strain gauges and one constant current source connected at both ends to each other and to the ground. The measured voltages can be tapped between sequentially corresponding connecting points of immediately adjoining strain gauges in both series circuits.

  • Patent number: 4420980
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring the pressure in a cylindrical cavity by measuring the expansion of the cylindrical cavity in the circumferential direction which results from the pressure within the cylindrical cavity. Such circumferential elongations are measured by a first electrical transducer which is responsive to elongations in the circumferential direction. Contractions in the circumferential direction which results from elongations in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical cavity are compensated by measuring such longitudinal elongations with at least one further electrical transducer. Such longitudinal elongations may result from bending or tensile stresses. The sensitivity of the electrical transducer for measuring the longitudinal elongations corresponds to the sensitivity of the electrical transducer which measures circumferential elongations, multiplied by the reciprocal of the Poisson ratio.
