  • Patent number: 4946541
Abstract: The apparatus for forming an endless conveyor belt and for repair of a conveyor belt comprises at least one heatable press platen, a plurality of upper crossbars, a plurality of lower crossbars combined with the upper crossbar, a hydraulic press-pressure-producing mechanism supported on the crossbars having a plurality of adjacent hydraulic tubes of a constant circumference which are supported on one side on a press plate resting on one press platen spaceable relative to a crossbar and on the other side on the crossbar and at least one beam extending in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt combining the upper crossbars, at least one vibration generator directly or indirectly connected to one of the press platens on a protruding portion of that platen extending beyond the crossbars, a bending line compensator positioned adjacent to the press platen on which the vibration generator is connected maintaining the press platen substantially planar and at least one other vibration generator provided on th

  • Patent number: 4917741
Abstract: The process for forming, or rendering endless or repairing a conveyor belt made of rubber and equipped with stress bearing inserts comprises providing a conveyor belt section with rubber material and preparing it for vulcanization, bringing it between heatable press platens and vulcanizing it using heat and pressure. The rubber has Newtonian flow properties and undergoes a hot pressing. The conveyor belt section is vibrated during vulcanization over a vibrational time period which is smaller than the vulcanization time.

  • Patent number: 4609100
Abstract: A clamping device for conveyor belts has a pair of crossbars disposed on opposite sides of the conveyor belt and clamping bars each disposed between a respective crossbar and the conveyor belt. The device is mounted through the clamping bars and a hydraulic unit such as deformable hoses or an array of piston-and-cylinder units is braced between one of the clamping bars and the respective crossbar.

  • Patent number: 4557791
Abstract: A belt press is formed of a longitudinal row of upright and abutting press frames each comprising a plurality of upper and a plurality of lower traverses respectively having lower and upper traverse faces, upper and lower press platens carried on and between the traverses and having respective upper and lower platen faces respectively confronting the lower and upper traverse faces, and mechanical actuators including bolts engaged between the traverses for displacing the traverses toward each other and thereby pressing the platens against a belt engaged therebetween with a pressure sufficient to deform the lower traverse. A lower bend-compensating element having a pair of nonparallel upper and lower surfaces is engaged between the lower platen face and the respective confronting traverse face. A hydraulic force-transmitter is engaged between the upper platen face and the lower traverse face.

  • Patent number: 4554043
Abstract: A belt press is formed of a longitudinal row of upright and abutting press frames each comprising upper and lower traverses respectively having lower and upper traverse faces and two upright tie bolts extending vertically between the upper and lower traverses and securing the lower traverse to the upper traverse. Upper and lower press platens carried on and between the traverses have respective upper and lower platen faces respectively confronting the lower and upper traverse faces. A belt workpiece to be joined or repaired is engaged between the platens. Respective upper and lower pressure plates engaged between the platen faces and the respective traverse faces have respective upper and lower heaters. Hydraulic actuators engaged between the upper traverse and the upper pressure plate are vertically expansible for displacing the upper pressure plate down and thereby pressing the platens against a belt engaged therebetween.
