  • Patent number: 6397686
Abstract: A pick-up assembly for use in a liquid dispensing system utilizes a Hall-effect sensor integrated within a flowmeter to provide a measure of the rotational velocity of the rotor and hence the flow rate of liquid being transmitted through the liquid line. The rotor is modified to include at least one recessed area defined in its outer surface and which exhibits magnetic properties. The Hall-effect sensor includes a first and second Hall-effect element each generating a respective channel signal that is representative of the rotational velocity of the rotor. The Hall-effect sensor is suitably arranged with respect to the rotor so as to enable each one of the recessed areas to exert a characteristic magnetic influence upon the Hall-effect sensor during shaft rotation. The variable magnetic flux experienced by the Hall-effect sensor appears as a corresponding variation in the voltage signal generated by the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6375434
Abstract: An integrated pump and meter having a spindle axially extending in the direction of the flow of fluid for pumping and metering the flow of fluid. A volume of fluid pumped is calculated as a function of spindle rotation. In one particular of embodiment, a pair of pressure sensors are located at the inlet and outlet of the pump/meter, respectively for computing a gap loss volume due to fluid passing between the pump/meter spindle and the cylinder wall. The gap loss volume and calculated flow volume are combined to calculate a total volume of fluid to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 6290760
Abstract: An apparatus and method for separating dissolved gasses from a fluid to produce de-aerated fluid which includes a fluid pump, a gas separator, and a vacuum pump for removing liberated dissolved gasses from the gas separator. In one particular embodiment, a unified pump/meter unit is used to both pump fluid, as well as volumetrically measure the amount of de-aerated fluid pumped.
