Abstract: A cover arrangement for a surface drainage device or similar hollow body is provided that is adapted to be installed in the ground and to be opened. This comprises a rectangular frame to be installed in the ground, a cover that can be inserted into the frame, hinge devices by means of which the cover is retained in the frame so that it can be pivoted upward in an opening direction, and latch devices by means of which the cover can be locked into the frame so that it will not open. These hinges and/or latch devices are constructed as spring-action cast rods and are integrally connected to the cover.

The locking element is disposed at a specified distance from the underside in such a way as to form an air gap for thermal insulation between the underside and the locking element.
