  • Publication number: 20140073011
Abstract: Method for the production of aqueous nutrient source for macro and micro algae aquaculture farming and nutrient source thus formed. Phosphorous containing rocks are dissolved in at least one mineral acid to yield a solution containing a blend of ions of the minerals included in the rocks and in the acid in a form digestible by the algae and adding carbon in the form of CO2, carbonic acid, or carbonate salts. The invention is also directed to a method for feeding an algae aquaculture farm with such nutrient source.

  • Publication number: 20130044679
Abstract: In a mobile device operative in a packet switched wireless network, the control logic for handling the PS connection resides inside the modem part of the device when dual-stack operation is required (e.g., PDN connections having PDN types IPv4 and IPv6). This effectively hides how dual-stack IPv4v6 connectivity is implemented towards the relevant 3GPP network. Further, the modem always only uses one and only one network interface, as seen from the IP stack, when it operates in dual-stack mode, regardless of how the underlying PDN connection(s) are set up.

  • Publication number: 20120082602
Abstract: Method for industrial manufacture of pure (precipitated) CaCO3 comprising providing at least one naturally occurring carbonate bearing rock and comminuting said rock to increase its surface area. In a first reaction zone (R1) the comminuted carbonate bearing rock is contacted with water and CO2 at a pressure higher than standard pressure, at a temperature in the range 30-500° C. and at a pH lower than 5 to thereby dissolve the carbonate. Dissolved material is conveyed from the first reaction zone (R1) to a second reaction zone (R2) held at a lower pressure than the first reaction zone and a pH higher than that of the first reaction zone, the presence of H+ ions in first and second reaction zones being caused by the reaction between CO2 and water. In the second reaction zone the calcium carbonate is precipitated at a pH higher than 5.

  • Patent number: 7682589
Abstract: Method for industrial manufacture of pure MgCO3 comprising providing an olivine containing species of rock, to comminute the olivine containing species of rock to increase its surface, to contact the comminuted olivine containing species of rock with water and CO2. The process is conducted in at least two steps, namely a first step (R1) at a first pH where a dissolving reacting as represented the equation: Mg2SiO4(S)+4H+=2Mg2++SiO2(aq)+2H2O, takes place. Then a precipitation takes place in the second step (R2) at a higher pH as represented by the equations: Mg2++HCO3?=MgCO3(S)+H+, and Mg2++CO32?=MgCO3(S), the presence of HCO3? and H+ ions mainly provided by the reaction between CO2 and water.

  • Publication number: 20070155422
Abstract: A method and system of communication is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: establishing an universal serial bus (USB) connection between a computing device and a mobile communication device; the mobile communication device identifying itself as an USB Ethernet adapter to the computing device; configuring an Ethernet interface between the computing device and the mobile communication device based on the identity provided by the mobile communication device; activating a mobile data connection between the mobile communication device and a network; and communicating data using internet protocol frames between the computing device and the network via said mobile computing device.

  • Publication number: 20040070210
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for the production of energy from currents in bodies of water with a surface towards the atmosphere. The apparatus comprises an axial turbine (1) with blades with adjustable pitch. The turbine (1) is secured to a housing and the housing (2) is secured to a foundation (14) that furthermore is founded to the seabed (10) below the flowing body of water. The apparatus is completely submerged below the surface of the body of water, and the turbine blades can be twisted at least 180° to allow the turbine (1) to rotate the same direction regardless of the direction of flow of the body of water. Furthermore the invention describes a method for the installation of such appa-ratuses and a foundation for the installation.

  • Patent number: 6611694
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for improving the speech quality, especially for VoIP (Voice over IP) calls, which arrangement comprises a Transceiver and Rate Adapter Unit (TRAU) in which an encoded speech signal from a Mobile Station (MS) is transcoded, and for the purpose of reducing the necessary encoding/decoding for thereby avoiding detorioration of speech quality, and also for the purpose of avoiding reduction in bandwidth, it is according to the present invention suggested that said arrangement comprises means for either putting the TRAU in a transparent mode or letting the TRAU be bypassed altogether.

  • Patent number: 4169296
Abstract: A personnel bridge for connecting a stationary offshore working platform 1 to a floating housing platform 2. A first span 3 is vertically pivoted at 5 to the platform 1 on one end, and vertically pivoted at 6 to the outer end of a second span 4 whose inner end is mounted to the platform 2 by a ball joint 8. The outer ends of the spans 3, 4 are also connected through a horizontal pivot axis 7, whereby movements between the platforms 1, 2 in three mutually orthogonal directions may be accommodated. The spans may be supported from a tower 10 by a fixed cable 9 pivotable at one end about an axis 11 aligned with the vertical axis 5, and by a winch controlled cable 12.
