Information that is used to anticipate consumption data for an impending production period, or anticipated consumption data, is supplied to a material flow system that includes implemented logic. A warehousing strategy is defined in a sub-process which uses the anticipated consumption data and a current inventory.

Abstract: A system for checking the loading of a print form magazine, which stores at least two print forms, utilizes at least one code reader to read a code which is carried by the print forms. The code reader reads the coding of the printing forms in a secondary region. The coding of at least two printing forms, which are arranged adjacently, horizontally or vertically together, is read by the code reader. The code reader has an image sensor and an illumination system for lighting the secondary region. A system is also provided for transporting at least one print form stored in the print form magazine to a cylinder. An analytical unit can be connected to the code reader, or to another registration device, and stores information regarding the transport of each printing form, that is stored in the print form magazine, to the cylinder. The analytical unit that may be connected to the code reader is provided with a signaling device.

At least two webs initially run through a first processing step independently of each other and are subsequently combined with each other to form one resultant web strand. The web tensions of these two initially independent webs are adjusted to each other through a first regulation process. Each of these webs has its web tension regulated on the separate web path by a dedicated second regulation process which is different from the first regulation process.

Abstract: A depot or a storage facility for a plurality of material rolls, which rolls are intended for further processing in a processing machine, includes two outer shelving blocks in addition to at least one inner shelving block that is situated between the two outer shelving blocks. A storage location of the inner shelving block can be loaded or unloaded by a retrieval device which can access the shelving block from both longitudinal sides of the shelving block.

Abstract: Tension in a web of material that is passing through a web treatment machine, such as a web-fed rotary printing press, is controlled. The desired value for the web tension is modified to counteract defects that may influence web tension during production operation of the web treatment machine. The modification of the web tension is done in advance of, or concurrently with the arrival of the defect that influences the web tension.
