  • Patent number: 9111544
Abstract: A system and method for compensating audio signal components is disclosed. The method includes detecting, by a microphone, a sound signal. The sound signal comprises audio signal components resulting from reproducing an audio signal of an audio source and speech signal components corresponding to a speech signal from a person. The sound signal is filtered to whiten the sound signal. The audio signal components in the whitened sound signal are then compensated. The whitening of the compensated sound signal is removed. The filtering of the audio signal is performed using at least two filters in an alternating way, each filter using time-dependent filter coefficients.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 2012
Date of Patent: August 18, 2015
    Assignee: NUANCE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
Inventors: Gerhard Uwe Schmidt, Tim Haulick, Harald Lenhardt

  • Patent number: 8175290
Abstract: A feedback reduction system adaptively processes a microphone signal. An adaptive feedback suppression filter circuit processes the microphone signal, and an adaptive feedback compensation filter circuit further processes the microphone signal. The adaptive feedback suppression filter circuit processes the signal based upon output from the adaptive filter compensation filter circuit.

  • Publication number: 20080025527
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for processing a microphone signal and a system for audio signal processing with feedback reduction. The method comprises processing the microphone signal by an adaptive feedback suppression filtering means; processing the microphone signal by an adaptive feedback compensation filtering means; and wherein the processing by the adaptive feedback suppression filtering means is performed in dependence on the processing by the adaptive feedback compensation filtering means. The system comprises an adaptive feedback compensation filtering means; and an adaptive feedback suppression filtering means configured to be adapted on the basis of the adapted filter coefficients of the adaptive feedback compensation filtering means.

  • Publication number: 20080015845
Abstract: A system compensating audio signal components in a communication system is disclosed, the method comprising the steps of detecting, by a microphone, a sound signal, the sound signal comprising audio signal components resulting from reproducing an audio signal of an audio source, the sound signal further comprising speech signal components corresponding to a speech signal from a person, filtering the sound signal to whiten the sound signal, compensating the audio signal components in the whitened sound signal, and removing the whitening of the compensated sound signal, where the filtering of the audio signal is performed using at least two filters in an alternating way, each filter using time-dependent filter coefficients.
