  • Publication number: 20180354153
Abstract: A motorized chain saw has a measuring system for measuring an object, in particular a trunk. The motorized chain saw has a saw chain, and the measuring system has an evaluation device. The measuring system includes a sensor system for capturing the movement of the saw chain as the saw chain rolls over an object to be measured. The evaluation device is configured to evaluate the movement of the saw chain captured by the sensor system. In a method for operating the motorized chain saw, the sensor system captures the movement of the saw chain as the saw chain rolls over an object to be measured, and the evaluation device evaluates the captured movement.

  • Publication number: 20180133818
Abstract: A handheld portable cutting apparatus having a cutter unit with a cutter unit longitudinal axis. In a central housing section of the cutting apparatus, a drive connection is arranged between an electric drive motor and the cutter unit, wherein a motor housing having a motor housing longitudinal axis extends from the central housing section. A handle extends from the central housing section in a handle longitudinal axis. The cutter unit includes a guide bar with a saw chain circulating thereon, wherein, in a side view onto the cutting apparatus, the point of intersection (S1) between the handle longitudinal axis and the motor housing longitudinal axis and also the point of intersection (S2) between the handle longitudinal axis and the cutter unit longitudinal axis lie in the central housing section.

  • Publication number: 20160144530
Abstract: A power saw system has a power saw with housing; guide bar; and saw chain driven about the guide bar by an electric drive motor. A battery is arranged outside of the housing. A power cable is connected with its first end through an electrical connection to the battery and with the second end to the drive motor to supply the drive motor with power. An elastic securing element is connected by a fastening element to the housing. A connecting device connects by a mechanical connection the securing element to an operator of the power saw. The connecting device has an overload protection separating the mechanical connection between securing element and operator when a maximum pulling force is surpassed. Securing element and power cable form a cable assembly. A pull-out force for separating the electrical connection is smaller than the maximum pulling force.

  • Patent number: 9220201
Abstract: A hand-held power tool has a power tool housing made at least partially of plastic material. A drive motor is arranged in the power tool housing and a drive shaft driven connected to the drive motor is provided. A tool member is connected to the drive shaft and driven by the drive motor through the drive shaft. A first bearing rotatably supports the drive shaft relative to the power tool housing. An intermediate element supports the first bearing relative to the power tool housing. The intermediate element is arranged in a receptacle of the power tool housing and is supported on a support surface relative to the bottom of the receptacle. The support surface is less than approximately 50% of an imaginary circular ring surface defined between an outer circumference of the first bearing and the circumcircle of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 9041320
Abstract: The invention relates to a portable work apparatus having a housing and a work tool which is driven by an electric motor via a gear assembly. A flywheel which rotates about a rotational axis is arranged in the drive train between the electric motor and the gear assembly, which flywheel is connected fixedly to an output shaft so as to rotate with it, which output shaft protrudes into a gear assembly space and has a drive pinion. The output, shaft and the flywheel are mounted in the housing by two bearing locations, the rotational axis of the flywheel and a motor shaft of the electric motor lying coaxially with respect to one another, and the motor shaft of the electric motor being connected fixedly to the flywheel so as to rotate with it. The electric motor is fixed in the housing exclusively via a torque support.

  • Publication number: 20100218385
Abstract: A hand-guided electric device has an electric motor for driving a tool. The electric motor has a motor housing with inlet and outlet for cooling air. A blower wheel is driven by the electric motor and cooling air is conveyed into the motor housing with the blower wheel through the inlet and blown out from the motor housing through the outlet. The device housing has a cooling air inlet chamber and a cooling air outlet chamber. The cooling air enters the inlet chamber through a cooling air inlet port in an exterior housing wall of the device housing and exits from the outlet chamber through a cooling air outlet port in the exterior housing wall. The cooling air inlet and outlet chambers are separated from one another substantially air-tightly by an inner housing wall so that motor housing is the only flow connection between inlet and outlet chambers.

  • Patent number: 7713111
Abstract: A device for supplying water to a cutting wheel of a hand-held cut-off machine has a water-conducting line and a valve arrangement arranged in the line. The valve arrangement has a shut-off valve for controlling the water flow flowing through the line. The shut-off valve is actuated as a function of an operating signal of the cut-off machine such that in operation of the cut-off machine the water flow through the line is released by the shut-off valve. The shut-off valve interrupts the water flow through the line when the operating signal is absent.

  • Patent number: 7591378
Abstract: A manually guided apparatus for collecting objects, especially fruits and nuts, including a pick-up drum rotatably mounted in the drum chamber of a housing. The drum is disposed approximately transverse to the direction of operation, and is rotationally driven by a drive unit. The housing has a wall section extending over the width of the drum approximately at the level of the outer diameter thereof. A ground support is disposed in the region of ends of the drum. A collection channel provides communication for picked-up objects between the drum chamber and a collection receptacle for receiving the objects. The wall section of the housing and the drum cooperate with one another such that objects are accelerated along the wall section toward the collection channel and are ejected out of the drum chamber along a trajectory into the collection receptacle. A handle is operatively connected to the housing for moving the housing in the direction of operation.
