  • Patent number: 7761080
Abstract: A method for generating an emergency call as well as an emergency sensing device and a mobile phone for executing this method. An emergency event is triggered on the emergency sensing device. When detecting the emergency event, the emergency sensing device activates a transmitter and transmits an emergency signal via a wireless communication interface to the mobile phone. The mobile phone establishes an emergency call to a predefined destination, when receiving via the wireless communication interface such emergency signal from the emergency sensing device.

  • Patent number: 6947538
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process and also to a service computer, a switching center, terminals, program modules and memory means with program modules for handling incoming telephone calls for a subscriber line (VA1) of a telecommunications network (PSTN) during an online data-network session blocking the subscriber line (VA1). In this process a terminal (TERA) sets up a connection (VA11, VA1, VPOP1) to an online data-network access device (POP) via the subscriber line (VA1). Thereupon the online data-network access device (POP) sends current access data to the terminal (TERA), which the terminal (TERA) signals to a service computer (SCP) of the telecommunications network.

  • Publication number: 20050101307
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for performing a voting, as well as a vote server, a mobile terminal and a computer program product used for the implementation of this method. The vote server generates a unique transaction number associated with a specific voting item and a specific subscriber. It transmits the unique transaction number together with the specific voting item to the mobile terminal of the specific subscriber. The mobile terminal sends back a response comprising the vote together with the transaction number and a unique identification number associated with the subscriber of the mobile terminal. The vote server compares the received transaction number and the received identification number with stored values and accepts the vote contained in the response, if the check is positive.

  • Publication number: 20050074106
Abstract: Summary The invention concerns the method of establishing a communication connection between a calling subscriber terminal and a called subscriber terminal connected to a circuit switched communication network, a terminal for a communication network and a server for the provisioning of services to calling subscriber terminals of a circuit switched communication network. A calling subscriber enters a request to access a called subscriber terminal. The subscriber terminal transfers an identification of the called subscriber to a mediation function element. The mediation function element transmits said identification of the called subscriber to an address translation server. The address translation server transmits a circuit switched network address of a terminal of the called subscriber to the mediation function element. The mediation function element initiates a call establishment by passing said address to a call handling function of the circuit switched communication network.

  • Patent number: 6611821
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of charging for the use of an internet service (SERV) by a subscriber of a communications network (KN), plus a service unit (SERV_IN) of this communications network and a service provider unit (SERVU) which furnishes the internet service (SERV). The subscriber accesses the internet service (SERV) by means of a terminal (TE) of the communications network. Establishing a communication connection between the terminal (TE) and the internet (INT) triggers the service unit (SERV_IN) of the communications network (KN). When the internet service (SERV) is accessed via this communication connection, an additional control connection (KOMM) is established between the internet service (SERV) and the service unit (SERV_IN).

  • Patent number: 6215770
Abstract: A requesting terminal signals a call request (CALL) to a control unit of a first communications network. The control unit then determines whether sufficient capacity is available in the first communications network to establish the connection requested by the call request. In the event of insufficient capacity, the control unit transmits an overload message (DAT) to the requesting terminal. It only initiates an alternative establishment of the requested connection via another, second communications network after it receives an acknowledge message (ACK) issued by the requesting terminal.
